The Board of Trustees of the city of Ilewport Beach met in adjourned"
„ession 7:30 P.M. Monday October 16th, 1916.
'?resident Jumper called the meeting to order and the roll was called

:7ilson seconded by trustee, Glenn Helms and carried, that the matter
be placed in the hands of the Has Committee and the Gas lanao-er with
power to act.
I,Ioved by trustee, G.P.,'ilson seconded by trustee, H.A.Robinson and
carried that the bread and ice ordinance as presented for considerat
ion by Pir I,:c Phee be filed no action taken.
Communications were read and referred to proper order of business.

Resolution ` 61 was by the city attorn

taken up and considered, and re- referred to the city attorney for
further consideration.

Letter from the Orange. County Improvement _ss'n in conn-
ection.with a deed to the pool at .lest Newport was referred to city
attorney Bishop for reply.
The clerk was instructed to write or phone Captain Leeds, asking him
if possible to confer with the Board on ilednesday evening in the
T of Harbor Engineering, President Jumper »laced the matter in
the hands of the Board of trustees as a committee of the whole.
Tile matter of a fire alarm sirene was referred to the fire committee
and the fire chief, to investigate and report on the kind needed and
the probable cost.
Trustee ilenn Helms brought up the matter of card playing in the Pool
Rooms.

carried that Ordinances 76 be ra1�d: Q /✓mat
Ordinance r 127 amending Ordinance 76 came to first :reading and on
motion of trustee, Glenn Nelms seconded by trustee,.J.C.McCain and
carried was passed to second reading.
Coved by trustee, H.A.Robinsou seconded by trustee, J.C.McCain and
carried that the city electrician and Sup't of Streets, be instructed
to get an offer on the New code copper wire novi on hand which was
on hand after the completion of the street liThting system.
I:Iovcd by trustee, H.tl•Robinson seconded by trustee, J.C- McCain and
carried that the City ilectrician and Street Sup't be instructed to
ascertain the number and possible cost of installing the -necessary
lights on Balboa Island.

City l.Iarshall J.r.Porter was instructed to get an offer on the two
stoves and coal now on hand.
The Clerk was instructed to address a letter to _Iayor ';:oodman of Los
.ngeles, askin; if arran=eiaonts could be made for the Board of gust

to masse a personal inspection'of the quarry on Catalina Island, with
the idea of obt inirg rock for the proposed jetty.
