City Piall,Neiaport Beach Calif, April 1 1918 7.30 P.M.
The Board of Trustees of 'cite City of Newport Beach met at the
place and time above noted..The roll was called and the following Trus
ees were found to be present:H.A. Robinson ,J.J.Schnitker,Geo.P.',7ilson,
J.C.C.McCain & J.P.Greeley. Absent,Plone.
The Minutes of March bth,Harch 18,March 19th and March 20th were
read and approved without correction.
The reports of the Heads of Departments with the exception of
those of Clerk and Treasurer were read,accepted and ordered filed by
motion made by Trustee Geo.P.irilson,seconded by Trustee J.J.Schnitker
and carried.
Communications were read and referred to the proper order of
business.
Surveys for channel.
I;y motioo of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee J.J.
Schnitker and carried,it was ordered that the surveys for channel
dredging be placed in the hands of the City Engineer to be prepared
for the advertising for bids.
SPORT OF DREDGING C011MITT -E.
Trustee J.J.Schnitker reported on letter from Capt.Leeds in
egard to leasing of the Government Dredge "San Pedro ".
ESOLUTION NO.94.
Resolution No.94 providing for the dedication of Map No.108 was
resented and adopted by motion made by Trustee Geo.P.7ilson,seconded
y Trustee J.C.HcCain and carried by the following vote:
yes: Trustees H.A. Robinson, J.J.Schnitker,Geo. P.71ilson,J.C.14IC Cain an
.P.Greeley. Noes,None,Absent none.
RESOLUTION NO.95.
Resolution No.95,declaring intention to change and re- establish
grades of certain portions of Central Ave and Coast Boulevard,was
presented and adopted by motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by
Trustee Ge6.P.:7ilsbn and carried by the following vote :Trustees II._ <:.
Robinson, J.J. Schnitker ,Geo.P. "iiison,J.C.neicCain and J.P.Greeley.
Noes,None; Absent,None.

ordinance iio.141 providing for the establishing of certain grade
on Coast Boulevard was presented and passed to second reading by
motion of Trustee Geo.r.I7ilson,seconded.by Trustee J.C.IeicCain and
carried.
ACATION OF BAY AVENUE.
It was moved by Trustee J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee J.J.
chnitker and carried that the City Attorney be instructed to commence
roceedings for the removal of -the spur track of the Pacific Electric
in Bay Ave.
,ISPOSAL OF COI:- fMUCATIONS.
The request of J.A.Porter for changing the location of the toile
from the basement of the city hall to room adjoining the council room
as granted providing cost did not exceed estimate.
' The bill of the State Compensation Insurance Fund was referred t
the ';Dater and Street Committee for revision. It was moved by Trustee
J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee J.C.IvicCain and carried that revision
of schedule be made according to the requirements of the city and the,
,a warrant be drawn to cover.
The invitation of The Patriotic Exercises Committee of Santa Ana
the Board of Trustees to join in parade April 15th was accepted.by

It was moved by Trustee J.P.GTeeleJ,seconded by Trustee J.J.
nitker and carried that the Letter from the State Board of Health
referred to the City . ittorney.

By motion made by Trustee- Geo.T.,7ilson,seconded by Trustee J.J.Schni ker
and carried,the Chairman of the Board was requested to appoint the
Street Committee and the City Engineer as a corxunittee to investigate
system for numbering of houses.

Greeley and carried that the Street Committee take up the matter of
installing lights on New.uort Heights.
On motion of Trustee Ceo.T.vilson,seconded by Trustee J.C.IvicCain I
and duly carried,the demands were allowed and warrants ordered drawn.

On motion of Trustee J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee J.C.McCain
and carried the City Engineer was instructed to prepare plans,specifir
cations, estimates of cost etc.and the necessary proceedings to pave the Coas
Coast Boulevard from the westerly city boundary line to Thirtieth St.,
and to include in the assessment district all that portion of the city
from the westerly boundary line of said city to the center line of
Thirtieth St and the Southern pacific Railroad, excepting that portion
lying• northerly of the Rivo Alto and easterly of the Rialto.

REL_aT?VE TO PAVING.
. A.committee composed of Lew H.Wallace and Paul E.Kressly was
appointed to interview C.H.Burnett,hlgr.of the real estate department
of the Pacific Electric Co. as to the intentions of tre P.E.Land Co.
concerning the paving of 10th, 11th ,12,13th,14th,15th,16th,17th & 18t
Streets,and the construction of a wooden sidewalk on'piles along
Ocean Ave.,and ascertain whether they desire the Board of Trustees t
order these improvements to be made under one of the Improvement Act

It was moved by Trustee J.P.Greeley,seconded by Trustee J.C.McCaLn
and carried that the City Attorney be instructed to present matter of ,
opening of Coast Boulevard to the Board of Supervisors.
Moved by Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee Geo.P.Wilson
and carried that the Board adjourn to 4 P.M.Friday,April 5,1918.
