RESOLUTION NO.108.
Resolution No.108 was presented.It was moved-by Trustee J.J1
Schnitker and aeconded,by Trustee J.C.McCain that the same be adopted,
The roll was called and the following Trustees voted "Aye ": Trustees
J.P.Greeley,J.J. Schnitker ,Geo.P.'Vilson,J.C.McCain and L.S.Wilkinson.
Noes,none; absent, none.
In the matter of the recommendation of the `dater Superintendent
that the'Salary of the Superintendent be made $150. and the Pumper
$110.per month from June let.,it was moved,by Trustee Geo.P.Tilson,
seconded by Trustee J.C.McCain that the recommendation be accepted.
The roll was called and all the Trustees voted "Ayd "as'follows:

The matter of condemning right of way•in Central Ave. was ref
to the City Attorney and the City Engineer.
The demands were allowed and warrants ordered drawn to cover by
motion of Trustee Geo.P.Wilson,seeonded by Trustee J.C.MeCaid and
carried.
-The request of the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co.to construe
a line-along Park.Ave.,Balboa ,Island and across the.channel to the
mainland was granted by motion of Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by
- Trustee J.C.MoCain and carried.
Adjournment was taken to 7 :30 P.M.,June 23,1919,by motion of
Trustee J.J.Schnitker,see•onded by Trustee J.C.McCain and carried.

The Board of Trustees_ of the City of Newport Beach met in regula3
spasion.at the date and place as above noted. The roll was ce jed and
;all the Trustee were present as follows: Trustees J.P.Greeley, J.J.
Sohnitker,Geo.P.wilson,J.C.MoCain and L.S.Wilkinson.
The minutes of May 19th and June 2nd were read and approved as
_ •read.
Trustees Geo.P.Wilson and J.C.MoCain reported on the parking of
;autos. It was moved by Trustee L.S.Wilkinson,seconded by Trustee Geo.
!P.wilson and carried that the recommendation of the Street Committee
be'acoepted and that the Marshal arrange for deputies to control park•
ng on paved streets when necessary.

Trustee L.S.Wilkinson reported progress in securing domestic lig]
:service for the residents of Newport Heights.
The communications were read and referred to the proper order of
business.
I The City Attorney presented deed executed to the city by the
Orange County Improvement Association conveying Lots A -21 to A -60 in-
clusive excepting a portion of Lots A -22 & A -23. By motion of Trustee
L.S:wilkinson,seconded by Trustee J.d.Schnitker and carried,the• same
was referred to the City Engineer to check desoription,and to the Cit3
Clerk to have reoorded if found to be correct.
The request of Joseph•Ferguson for permission to construct marine
ways was granted by motion of Trustee J.J.sQhnitkar,seeonded by Truste
J.C.MGCain and carried.
The request of A.Suttora for permission to construct a wharf was
referred to the City Engineer to make lease.
PUTION NO.109.
Resolution No.109 was presented for adoption.It was moved by

No.109 be adopted. The roll was called and all the Trustees voted "Aye"

Resolution No.110 was presented. It was moved by Trustee Geo.P.
Wilson,seconded.by Trustee J.C,MoCain that the same be adopted. The

Ordinance No.153 was presented and passed to second reading by
motion bf Trustee J.J.Sohnitker,seconded by Trustee Geo.P.Wilson and
carried.'
The City Engineer submitted easement granted by the pacific Lleotria.
Company for sewer crossings. By motion of TrusteecJ.J.Schnitk®r,seconded
by Trustee J.C.MoCain and duly oarried,the same were accepted.

It was moved by Trustee J.J.Sohnitker,seconded by Trustee Geo.P.
Wilson and carried that the President and Clerk of the Board be author-
ized to execute the said easement for. sewer crossings and the Clerk
instructed to halve the same filed of record.
It was moved by Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee J.C.
McCain and carried that the matter of the lot filling contract with
the Pacific Electric Land Company be referred to the President of the
Board and the City Engineer for adjustment.
By motion of Trustee L.S.Wilkinson,seoonded by Trustee J.J,Sohniltker
and carried,the City Engineer was instructed to prepare a general map of
the dity of Newport Beach, Bay and adjacent territory,with insert map
showing relative distances of important cities-in Southern California.
.It was moved by Trustee J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee Geo.P.
Wilson-and carried that the City Engineer prepare plans and specifi-
oations.for building of landings at 19th and 30th Streets.

By motion of Trustee J.J.Sohnitker,seconded by Trustee Geo.P.Wilson ;
and carried,the Clerk was instructed to.advertise for bids for the oon-
struction of said landings as per the instruction of the City Engineer.
It was moved by Trustee L.S.Wilkinson,seeonded by Trustee J.C.MoCain
-and carried that the Fire Chief ascertain if any other department of
the city can use injured fire hose(about 100 feet),to advantage,and if
not,dispose of same to best advantage.
It was moved by Trustee L.S.Wilkinson,seconded by Trustee J.J.
Schnitker and carried that the matter of the Southern Pacific Company's
building a side walk at 22nd Street from Bay Ave.to the Pacific Eleotrio
Station,be referred to the City Engineer.
It was moved by Trustee L.S.Wilkinson,seconded by Trustee Geo.P.
Wilson-and carried that the Board of Trustees for themselves and in
behalf of the City,expreds their thanks and appreciation to Lew H.Wallace
and J.A.Armitage•for their valuable efforts during the Harbor Bond Cajn-
paign.
It was moved by Trust ®e J.J.Schnitker,seconded by Trustee J.C.MoCain
that the City Attorney be instructed to draft.an Ordinance repealing jhe
present license ordinance. The roll was called and the Trustees voted as
follows: J.P.Greeley,No; J.J.Schnitker,Yes; Geo.P.Jilson,No; J.C.MoCain,
Yes; L.S.Wilkinson,No. The President thereupon declared the motion to ®t.

Wilson and carried that Trustees J.J.Sohnitker and T.C.MoCain be appoint-
ed a committee to revise the license ordinance of the city with reoom6nd
ation as soon as possible.
By motion of Trustee L,S.Wilkinson,abconded by Trustee J.C.MoCa
and carried,it was ordered that'the city expend the sum of $100, for
music on the Fourth,the same to be taken from the -Music'an'd Promot1c
Fund,
In re the petition of a number of residents of west Newport for
two lights.to be placed at the Pool,one at the east end and one at
the west end,the matter was referred to the water,gas and light com-
mittee.
Lucien S.Taylor'a request to have the alley flirted between Alva-
rado and Fernando Streets was laid on the table.
Tivo deeds of easement for public streets at Twenty - eighth and
Thirty -first Streets from -the Newport Beach Syndicate,and one from
A.J,Stevens were referred to the City Attorney.
The petition from residents of Balboa Island in re bulkhead was
referred to the City Engineer to make an estimate of cost,by motion
of Trustee Geo.P.Tilson,seconded by Trustee J.C.MoCain and carried.
In the matter of the petition of the residents of Balboa Island
ing that the Island be cleaned up,the City Attorney was instructed
advise the City Engineer what steps to take to compel property•
ere to clean their premises..
It was moved by Trustee L.S.h1kinson,seconded by Trustee Geo.P.

to the matter of disposing of the weeds on Balboa Island,and if pos
ble clean up before the Fourth.
The resignation of J.Royal Lemon,City Clerk,to take effect at

The resignation of Trustee Geo,P.Wilson was presented to take
ffect at once.It was moved by Trustee J.J..Scbnitker and seconded.by
ruetee J.C.McCain that the same be accepted. The roll was called and

It was moved by Trustee L.S.Wilkinson,seconded by Trustee J.J.

amon for his services aq City -Clerk for the past two years. Trustee

Trustee J.C.McCain nominated Art L :Heard for the office of True

allots were cast,all for Art L.Heard. The President then announced
