The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach net in adjourned session at 10 o'clock A. M. on above date. The meeting was called to order by President J. P. Greeley. The roll was called as follows: Present, Trustees J. P. Gres J. J. Schnitker, Goo. P. Wilson, Conrad Richter. Absent Trustee L. S. Wilkinson. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read, corrected and approved. Trustee Richter referred to a large house boat coming in the bay locating near the )iacht 81ub and expected. there to move their anchors. It was the.general understanding that there was an Ordinance prohibiting the use of house boats on the bay, and the Ci Clerk was asked to see if he could locate such an ordinance for the next meeting. The matter of using large cement "No Parking" signs at Balboa which had caused one accident was discussed, and on motion of Truste Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee Conrad Richter and carried, the matter was placed in the hands of the Street Committee with power to act. The matter of a raise in salary of the Camp Guardian was taken up and on motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee Conrad Richter and carried, the salary was raised X25.00 per month for August and September, 1921 making the salary X125.00 per month. The matter of purchasing a lot on the north side of the City* Hall for a driveway was discussed, and on motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried., the following committee was appointed to negotiate for the purchase of the lot next to the bungalettes._ Committee are Trustees J. J. Schnitker, Geo. P. Wilson and Treasurer Levi H. Wallace. A petition was presented from the majority of the property owners of Block C Newport Bay Tract between Alvarado Place and Coronado Street asking permission to dirt the alley, and the City Clerk -las instructed to tell them if they want it done right away they would have to do it themselves, but if they wanted the City to do it it would have to take the regular course of an assessment district and be subject to the approval of the City Engineer On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, the communication front Geo. l•!. Woolley in regard to moving the piles of sand on 32d Street next to his house, was referred to the Street Department. On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, the map of Tract No. 74 being a subdivision of Lot 301 of Newport Mesa Tract having been approved by the City Engineer, was approved by the Board. On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, the meeting as a Board of Trustees was adjourned to Thursday, August 11, 1921 at 10:00 o'clock A. 11., and proceeded as a Board of Equalization.
