City Iiall, Newport Beach, Sept. 26, 1921.
The Board of Trustees of.the City of Newport Beach met in
adjourned session at 7:30 o'clock P. 1.1. on above date. The meeting
was called to order by President J. P. Greeley.
The roll was called as follows: Present Trustees J.P.Greeley
J. J. Schnitker, Conrad Richter,•L. S: Wilkinson. Absent, Trustee
Geo. P. Wilson.
The minutes of the adjourned meeting of Sept. 19th were read
and approved.
The communications were read and referred to the proper order
of business.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Trustee J. J. Schnitker introduced an Ordinance ordering the
mission to the qualified voters of the City of Newport Beach, the
position of incurring a bonded debt for the purpose of the complet on
the municipal water works of said City as set forth in Resolution
144. The Ordinance was ordered filed, read, considered, numbere
inance No. 188, and submitted to the City Attorney for considerati r.
NE'v, BUSINESS.
The request of F. L. Rinehart for a two weeks vacation
eginning October 1st and recommending the appointment of Howard Smit
o take his place during his absence, was taken up and on motion of
rustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee J. J. Schnitker and carri
he request was granted and recommendation approved, pay to be allowe
uring the vacation as is customary.
The communication from the City of Long Beach asking us to us
ur efforts to bring the 1923 Convention of the League of Valifornia
Municipalities to Long Beach was refereed to the City Clerk to advise
hem that we would be glad to do what we could to help along this lin
On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee L.S.
}'ilkir_son and carried, the request of Fred Noller for transfer of
pusiness license No. 144 to Eugene Reber was granted.
The communication from Fire Chief Jackson stating that the
ire Insurance Companies were going to raise our rates on fire insurance
nless certain parts of the City were cleaned up of fire risks, was
iscussed, and on motion of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee
. J. Schnitker and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to drayr
p an Ordinance giving the Fire Chief and Fire Committee authority to
otify the parties to clean up their places, and making it a misde-
eanor for not doing do punishable by a fine.
On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee J.J.
itker and carried, F. J. Knight was granted permission to cross
sidewalk with a motor vehicle in front of Lot 9 Block 3 Balboa
ide Tract, under the usual restrictions for such work.
I On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee L.S.
Vilkinson and carried, The City Clerk was instructed to give the City
}ttorney the equalized assessed value of all property in Municipal
mprovement District No. 1 to aid in selling the bonds.
On motion. of Trustee L. Sc. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee J. J.
chnitker and carried, the meeting adjourned Sine Die.
