On motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Goo. P.
Wilson and carried, the Harbor Master and City Engineer were instructed
to prepare maps and furnish the City Attorney with the proper data to
enable him to draw up an ordinance for anchoring ground as outlined
by 'the Harbor blaster.
On motion of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee H. C.
Sloan and carried, the meeting adjourned to 7:30 o'clock P. M. on
Monday, May 15, 1922.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Newrport Beach met in
regular'adjourned session at 7:30 o'clock P. M. on above date. The
meeting,was called to order by President J. J. Schnitker.
The roll was called showing all the members present except
Trustee 0. H. Burke.
The minutes of the adjourned meeting; of May 8th and of the
' special meeting of May 11th were read and approved.
The communications were read and referred to the proper order
of business.
Pair. Sims of the Palisades was present and stated the property
owners on Corona Del Mar representing about 1500 lots, were desirous
of annexing to the City of Newport Beach if proper water and gas
service could be given them. The matter was left for them to present
in proper form.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
This being the time fixed for opening bids for certain work
on Central Avenue and certain other streets and avenues, and of certain
alleys, as contemplated by Resolution of Intention No. 168 of this
Board, the Board in open session publicly opened, examined and declared
all sealed bids received for said work, to -wit:

RESOLUTIOi: NO. 184, entitled.:
A esolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Newport Beach declaring its intention to order an improve-
ment made in said City, describing the improvement, the
land deemed necessary to be taken therefor, specifting the
exterior boundaries of a district of land to be benefitted
by the improvement and to be assessed to pay the damages,
costs and expenses thereof, directing the posting and
publication of notice, and designating a newspaper for
that purpose."
On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee H. C.
Sloan the foregoing Resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes, Trustees J. J. Schnitker, H. C. Sloan, Geo. P. Wilson,
Conrad Richter.
Noes, Trustees None.
Absent, Trustee 0. H. Burke.
ORDIIiA.NCE NO. 205, entitled:
An Ordinance of the City of Newport Beach declaring
it to be unlawful and to constitute a misdemeanor to cast
or throw any metal or mineral weight by means of fish line
and fishing tackle on or from certain structures in the
City ofNevrport Beach, and providing a penalty for all
violations thereof,"
came'up for final action, was read and considered; the roll

was called and "the Ordinance was passed by the vote of the following
named members of the Board of Trustees:
Ayes, Trustees J. J. Schnitker, H. C. Sloan, Geo. P. Wilson,
Conrad Richter.
Noes, Trustees None.
Absent, Trustee 0. H. Burke.

The grant deed of the Pacific Electric Land Co. for the ocean•
front lots in Section B was discussed, and on motion of Trustee °H. C.
Sloan seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, the deed was
accepted after'the proper reservations were made in regard to the
bulkheads for their property.

The City Engineer was asked to furnish the City Attorney
with the proper data to enable him to get up a petition for Assessment
District No. 2, and on motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by
Trustee Conrad Richter and carried, the City Engineer was asked to
report on same next Thursday night.
No action was taken on the plan for a new city jail at this
time.
The specifications for a new Diesel Engine were presented by
the City Engineer and on motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by
Trustee Conrad Richter and carried, the specifications were accepted
and the Clerk authorized to advertise for bids on same to be opened
June 5, 1922.
I ?EW BUSTITESS.
An Electrical Ordinance as prepared by the City Electrician
amending Ordinances No. 63 and 110 was read, and same was referred to
a Committee of the Whole to report on next Thursday night.
A proposed ordinance amending Plumbing Ordinances No. 105
and 200 was read, and same was referred to a committee of the Whole
to report on next Monday night.
On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee H.C.
Sloan and carried, the request of the Bathing Girls Parade Committee
for a permit to hold the bathing girls parade at Balboa June 25th
was granted unanimously by roll call.
The matter of enlargement of comfort stations at Balboa was
discussed, and Trustee Conrad Richter introduced a proposed Ordinance
concerning the diversion of certain funds of Municipal Improvement
District No. 1. The Ordinance was filed, read, considered and
designated Ordinance No. 206 and submitted to the City Attorney for
consideration.
The request of P,Irs. Belle
for a two years extension of same,
for investigation.
On motion of Trustee Geo.
Sloan and carried, the appointment
by Mr. Porter was approved.
Walker for transfer of lease and
was referred to the City Marshal
P. Wilson seconded by Trustee H.C.
of A. J. Twist as Deputy Marshal
No action was taken on the request for an appropriation for
flood control in Imperial Valley.
The description of the boundary of the industrial district
was laid over to next Monday night.
The request of the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co. to
erect 57 poles'in the City was discussed, and on motion of Trustee
H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Conrad Richter and carried, the matter
was referred to a committee of the Whole to report on next Thursday
night.
On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee H.C.
Sloan and carried, a Map of Tract No. 269 of South Santa Ana Sud-
division No. 2 of Newport Heights coming within the three mile limit
of Newport Beach, was approved.
On motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Geo.P.
Wilson and carried, the request of the Balboa Chamber of CoLmnerce for
an appropriation of 0100.00 out of the advertising fund for a band
for Memorial Day was allowed.
On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee H.C.
Sloan and carried, the meeting adjourned to 7:30 o'clock P. K. on
Thursday, May 18, 1922.
