Wilkinson and carried, the application of H. B. Tudor, Administrator
for transfer of Lunch Counter License of C. N. Stewart to Gus B.
Tamplis was granted.
On motion of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee H.C.
Sloan and carried, the request of the National Convention Committee
of Spanish War Veterans for a donation, was laid on the table and the
Clerk to notify them we were not in a position to comply.
On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee
H. C. Sloan and carried, A. P. Thresher and Vivian A. Sebring were
appointed as extra policemen to be paid at the rate of $5.00 per day
when on duty only.
On motion of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee L.S.
Wilkinson and carried, W. J. Truax was appointed Camp Guardian at a
salary of $125.00 per month; and also appointed an extra policeman
without extra pay.
On motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee L. S.
Wilkinson and carried, the meeting adjourned Sine Die.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Neirrport Beach met in
regular session at 7:30 o'clock P. 1% on above date. The meeting
was called to order by President J. J. Schnitker.
The roll was called showing the full Board present.
The mingttes of the meeting of June lst were read and
approved.
The reports of the heads of the various departments were
read, and on motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee L.S.
Wilkinson and carried, the reports were accepted and ordered filed.
The communications were read and referred to the proper
order of business.
This being the day and hour set for opening bids for a Diesel
Engine for the Pumping Plant, the Board in open session publicly
opened, examined and declared all bids received, which bids are as
follows:

On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H. C.
Sloan and carried, the bids :iere referred to a Committee of the Whole
with the Mater Superintendent and City Engineer to report on at the
next meeting.

RESOLUTION NO. 189, entitled as follows:
"A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Newport Beach ordering a part of Bay Avenue, an open
public street in the City of Newport Beach closed,
vacated and abandoned."

Richter the foregoing Resolution was adopted by the following

HEW BUSINESS.
On motion of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee H.C.
Sloan and carried, the City Clerk was -instructed to draw a warrant for
$250.00 in favor of the Newport Harbor Yacht Club for advertising
purposes.
On motion of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee H. C.
Sloan the City agreed to turn over some of their Bay Front lots westerly
of the Yacht Clubhouse for the erection of a tent city to accomodate
the Regatta from July 1st to the middle of September, upon call of the
roll unanimously carried.
On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H.C.
Sloan and carried,+he application for license to. operate an Aeroplane
Game by R. I. Smith on part of Lots 14, 15 and 16 in Block 10 Balboa Tract
was referred to City Marshal Porter to report on in writing at the next
meeting.
On motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Conrad
Richter and carried, the application of Hagar & Deniston to operate a
Curtis Sea Plane on the Bay this summer, was denied.
On motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Geo. P.-
Wilson and carried, the application of Lew H. Wallace to construct a
pier and landing float in front of Lot 170 of Block A East Newport,
was referred to the City Engineer.
On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee H.C.
Sloan and carried, the resolution as drawn up by Trustee Wilkinson was
adopted and a copy to be sent to the Women's Civic League.
This being the first Monday in June and the Tax Collector
having delivered to the Board of Trustees by filing the same with the
City Clerk, a complete delinquent list of all persons and property
oaring taxes and at the same time returned the assessment roll.
In the delinquent list so delivered there was set down in
numerical order all matters and things contained in the assessment
book relating to delinquent persons and property.
The Board of Trustees having carefully compared said
delinquent list with the assessment roll and being satisfied that it
contained a full and true statement of all taxes due and unpaid, the
Tax Collector was duly credited with all taxes charged against him on
the assessment roll the amount of which was 40 78,861.25, and in turn
the Board of Trustees directed the`C%ty Clerk to charge the Tax
Collector with the amount of taxes due on the delinquent list, together
with all penalties due thereon, and an additional sum of 50� advertising
fee on each lot, parcel or tract of land separately assessed, and each
assessment of personal property so delinquent, the amount of which is
$3,836.54.
The Board of Trustees further directed the City Clerk to
forthwith deliver to the Taa Collector said delinquent list.
On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee L.S.
Wilkinson and carried, the above resolution was adopted.
On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee L.S.
Wilkinson and carried, that demands No. 982 to 1110 inclusive having
been signed and approved by the Finance Committee, were allowed and
warrants to be drawn for same.
On motion of Trustee Geo. P. [!Filson seconded by Trustee
Conrad Richter and carried, the meeting adjourned to 7:30 o'clock P.M.
of Monday, June 12, 1922.
