Wilkinson seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, the resigna-
tion was laid on the table until next meeti_n,;.
On motion of Trustee L. S. l'ii lkinsor_ seconded by Trustee H. C,
Sloan and carried., the meeting adjourned to 7:50 o'clock P. on
i:onday, June 19, 1922.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach ?:stet in regular
adjourned session at 7:30 o'clock P. :=. on above date. The meeting
was called to order by President J. J. Schnitker.
The roll was called. shoring all the members present except
Trustee H. C. Sloan.
The minutes of the previous meeting of June 12th were read and
approved.
The matter of the new engine for the ptmmin" plant was referred
to a 6ormnittee of the VIhole with the City Lngineer and Water Superinten-
dent to report on.
The conmunications were read and referred to the proper order
of business.

This being: the time fired by Resolution of Intention. Yo. ISS
passed on the 29th day of i`ay, 1922, for hearing protests in the matter
of changing the ornarental lighting system, but no protests havin_, been
received and no one present desiring to be heard in the matter of said
protests, whereupon Trustee Geo. P. :7ilson moved that Resolution Wo. 1.91
entitled,
"A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Nevi -oort Beach ordering the improvement of certain portions.
of Central Avenue, and certain_ other streets and avenues,
under the Improvement Act of 1911,"
be adopted, which motion was seconded by Trustee L. S. Wilkinson
and carried by the following vote:
Ayes, Trustees J. J. Schnitker, Geo. P. Wilson, Comrcd Richter,
L. S. Wilkinson.
Fees, Trustees -Tone.
Absent, Trustee H. C. Sloan.

On ::lotion of Trustee L. S. Will=inson seconded. by Trustee Geo.
P. 1.7ilson and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare
proceedings for calling a bone: election for the purchase of the present
Public School property and fixing itun forinonicipal purposes at s.
cost of 9'50,000.00.
On raotion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee Conrad
Richter, the salary of J. S. Welsh was raised frmi 1?100.00 to 5150.00
per month for the a miter season, and the salary of the Health Officer
was raised frori 5`,;15.00 to }7.40.00 per month coirmaencin- July 1st, by
unaniirous vote of the membors present.
On notion of Trustee L. S. Uilkinson seconded by Trustee Conrad
Richter, the salary of the Fire Chief was raised from Q25.00 to ;775.00
per : :onth cornencing July 1st by unanimous vote of the nembors present.

On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded. by Trustee L. S.
Wilkinson and carried, the application of ':r. Lo,,-is to build a vrharf
and float in front of 30 feet of Lot 170 Section A East Nevrport,
having, been approved by the City Engineer, was granted.
The comiaunication fro:a Shinn -Holtz -Lyon Co. in regard to an
engine was referred to the City Engineer.
The float at the end of the Washington Street pier was
reported as not working properly, and on motion of Trustee L. S.
Wilkinson seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, the
' Street Superintendent was instructed to have the defect remedied..
On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Gilson seconded by Trustee L.S.
Wilkinsor_ and carried, the meeting adjovamed to 7:30 o'clock P.
on _onday, June 26, 10122.

the widening of alleys in East Newport, all those desiring to be
heard in the matter mere heard, and on motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan
seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson the objections were sustained and
all proceedings under Resolutions No. 177, 173, 179 and 184 mere
abandoned by the foll.orrin- vote:

Trustee H. C. Sloan introduced the following; Resolution:
RESOLVED that the dia{ram of the assessment district
for the construction of cement pipe sanitary seyrers, sep
septic tank, and other appurtenances in Central Avenue
and other streets and alleys, riChts -of -gray and property
ormed by said City as conteriplated by Resolution of
Intention iio. 133 of the Board of ^rusteos of said City,
be and the sa:ie is hereby adopted.
Trustee Conrad Richter introduced a Resolution entitled as
foll.o•,rs:
"A Resolution by the Board of Trustees of the City of
Revrport Beach, as the legislative branch thereof, deter -
minim.; that the public interest and also the public
necessity demands Life acquisition by and for said City
of a: municipal improvement t'i,:rcin, which is necessary and
convenient _to carry out the objects, purposes and powers
of the ^,i ty of lierrport Beach, tie cost of ::high :rill be too
great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income an
revenue thereof."
