The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach net in
regular adjourned session at 10:00 o'clock A. on above date. The
neeting was called to order by President J. J. Sclvzitker.
The -roll was called sho-ain; all. the members present except
Trustee L. S. 17ilkinson.
On .notion of Trustee II. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Conrad
Richter all bids fog^ a Diesel Engine for the pa;ping plant were
rejected except the one from the iladsen Iron '.?orks, by the following '
vote:
Ayes, Trustees J. J. Sclmitker, H. C. Sloan, Goo. P. Filson,
Conrad Richter.
Floes, Trustees None.
Absent, Trustee L. S. 17ilkinson.
On motion of Trustee E. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Goo. P.
Wilson the bid of the P.Tadsen Iron 1.71orks for a 75 Horse Power Adams
Diesel Engine was accepted and he was a- warded the contract for same,
the President and the City Clerk being_ authorized to sign the contract
on the follovrir_g vote:
Ayes, Trustees J. J. Sclvzitker, H. C. Sloan, Goo. P. Uilson,
Conrad Richter.
Noes, Trustees hone.
Absent, Trustee L. S. Wilkinson.
After discussing the matter of fines : ;ith the City recorder on
motion of Trustee Geo. P. Filson seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and c
carried, the meeting; adjourned Sine Die.

session at 7 :30 o'clock P. ': on above date. Tho meeting was called
to order by President J. J. Scinzi tker.
The roll eras oalled showin;; the full Board present.
The Minutes of the meetings of June 26th and 27th were read and
approved.
The reports of the heads of the various departments were read
and on motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee L. S.
Wilkinson and carried, the reports acre accepted and ordered filed.
The Fire and ;later Co=.iittee reported that their could ,,et a '
siren and put it on a toner for about 050.00, and on nation of Trustee
Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, the report
ryas accepted and the Conniittee enpoerered to purchase it and hl.ve it in
operation on the Fourth of July.
The committee on trash burners was given more time in which
to make a report .
The co- maCnications were read and referred to the proper order
of business.
