The Board of Trustees of the City of Herrpor- Bea.ch met in
regular adjourned session at 10:00 o'clock A. on above date. The
meetin was called to order by President J. J. Schni'tker.
The roll was called sho-.7in all the members present except
Trustee L. S. Wilkinson.
On iiiotion of Trustee 11. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Conrad
Richter all bids for a Diesel Engine for the pumping plant mere
rejected except the one from the i'adsen Iron '.lorks, by the followin. 1
vote:
Ayes, Trustees J. J. Sclinitker, H. C. Sloan, Goo. P. Wilson,
Conrad Richter.
P7oes, Trustees hone.
Absent, Trust -- L. S. Wilkinson.
On motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Goo. P.
Wilson the bid of the = .ladsen Iron Plorks for a 75 horse Poorer Adams
Diesel Engine -uas accepted and he was awarded the contract for same,
the President and the City Clerk being authorized to sign the contract
on the f olloi.ring vote:
Ayes, Trustees J. J. Schnitker, H. C. Sloan, Goo. P. ;7ilson,
Conrad Richter.
Noes, Trustees None.
Absent, Trustee L. S. Wilkinson.
After discussing the matter of fines .-ii h �2e Cit,r Recorder on
motion of Trustee Goo. P. Wilson ilson seconded by Trustee H. C. S :rloan and c
carried, the meeting adjourned Sine Die.

The Board of 'Tru -stew of the City of - Newport- Beach mot in regular
session at 7 :30 o'clock P. ':, on c -bove date. The meeting was called
to order by President J. J. Schnitker.
The roll was called showin_; the full Board present.
The rlinutes of the meetings of June 26th and 27th mere read and
approved.
The reports of the heads of the various departments mere read
and on motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded bir Trustee L. S.
1.7ilkinson and carried, the reports .-iere accepted and ordered filed.
The Fire and Water Com;littee reported that their could -et a '
siren and put it on a toner for about 0;50.00, and on motion of Trustee
Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, the report
was accepted and the Co riittee empowered to purchase it and have it in
operation on the Fourth of July.
The coi�i-ittee on trash burners was riven more time in which
to make a report.
The co-u�jfmications mere read and referred to the proper order
of business.
OR'MUINCE 110. 210, entitled:
"An Ordinance of the City of Uewport Beac:ci by its Board of
Trustees as its legislative body thereof, declaring its
intention_ to call on election in a proposed municipal
improvement district for the purpose of sub mitting 'to the
aualified electors of said district the proposition of
authorizing the issuance and sale of bonds of said district
in the manner and for the purposes set forth in this Ordinance;
accurately describing 'the exterior boundaries of the proposed
municipal improvement district, settin forth a general
description of the improvement to be acquired therein and an
estimate of the cost of the proposed improvement work, and
the incidental expenses in connection therewith, fixing a
date upon -:rhich the election will be called in said district,
that a map shoring the exterior boundaries.of said district
with relation to the territory immediately Conti `T ous there-t-o,
and a general description of the proposed improve ment are on
file in the office of the C1erl, of the City of Newport Beach,
which map shall govern for all details as to the e;,tent of
said district, and fixing a date, hour and place for the
hearinE of protests,"
came up for final action, was read and considered; the roll wa.s
called and the Ordinance pztssed by the vote of the following named
members of the Board of Trustees:
Ayes, Trustees J. J. Schnitker, H. C. Sloan, Goo. P. Wilson,
Conrad Richter, L. S. Wilkinson.
Noes, Trustees Iione.
Absent, Trustees Hone.
Trustee Conrad Richter introduced an Ordinance entitled as
follows:
"An Ordinance of the City of Newport Beach by the legis-
lative branch thereof, to -wit: -the Board of Trustees,
orderinf- the submission to he aualified voters of the City of
ITeS7pOrt Beach, the proposition of inctarri nr, a bonded debt for
the purposes set for, 6h in Resolution Aio. 192 o f the City of
Newport Beach, calling a special election for that purpose
reciting the objects and purposes for :nich the indebtedness
is proposed to be incurred, the estimated cost of the proposed public
improvement, the amount of the principal of the indebtedness
to be incurred therefor, and fixing a me_ximu:m rate of interest
to be paid on said indebtedness, fixing the date on which
such special election shall be held, the manner of holding
such election and the voting for or against incurring such
indebtedness, and providing that in all particulars not
recited in the ordinance such election shall be held as
provided by law for holding municipal elections in the City
of Newport Beach."
The Ordinance was ordered filed, read, considered, designated
Ordinance No. 212 and submitted to the City Attorney-
A number of people livin-• on Balboa Island were present and
presented petitions asking tha-t-.a sewer system be installed and certain
portions of -tile bullhead be repaired which was discussed, and on notion
of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Glilson and carried,
the City Engineer was instructed to. dive the City Attorney the neco=.ry
data for sane including; a description of the boundaries for forming an
assessment district to pay for sa-me.

The request of the Vermont Harbor = :arine Corp. to build
a pier in front.of Geo. E. Viberts property was referred to the
City Engineer.
The request of H. Worcester for permission to build a
boat landin in front of his property on Balboa Island was referred
to the City Engineer.
The request of :.Irs. A. R. Kraemer to burr Lot 1 in Block 32
from the city was referred to the City Clerk as to the cost of the lot
to the city.
On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H.C. '
Sloan and carried, the application of F. V1. Hardin- to cross the
sidewallr :!ith a n?otor vehicle in front of Lot 11, Blocic 28 Balboa
Fast Side Division was granted., to be tuzder the direction of the
Street Superintendent.
On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Gilson seconded by Trustee H.C.
Sloan and carried, the matter of board sidc,rralk on 19th street referred
to by Jonathan Tibbet, �7as referred to the City Engineer to -report on
at the next meeting.
The _hatter of parking in the alleys was referred to the Police
Cori:iittee.
On motion of Trustee Geo. P. idilson.seconded by Trustee L. S.
Wilkinson and carried, demands No. 1 to 151 inclusive having been signed
and approved by the Finance Comi:iittee, were allowed and warrants drarnz
for same.
On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H. C.
Sloan and carried, the meeting adjourned to 7:30 o'clock P. :, on
I.:onday, July 10, 1922.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in
regular adjourned session at 7:30 o'clock P. : .-. on above date. The
meeting was called to order by President J. J. Schnitker.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The communications were read and referred to the proper order of
business.

"An Ordinance of the.City of the City of Newport Beaca
prohibiting the parking or standin.- of vehicles upon the
public alleys and portions of certnlilz public streets in
the City of Nevrpovt Beach, prescribing the method of
parking on other streets, and providing a penalty for all
violations of this Ordinance,"
was taken up for final consideration; the same was read,
considered and on motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee
Conrad Richter and carried, the roll was called and Ordinance No. 211
passed by the following vote:
Ayes, Trustees J. J. Schnitker, H. C. Sloan, Geo. P. Gilson,
Conrad Richter, L. S. Wilkinson.
