City Hall, Newport Beach, Sept. 18, 1922 .
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beacg met in regular
adjourned session at 7:30 o'clock P. ?". on above date. The meeting was
called to order by President J. J. Schn.itker.
The roll was called shu.'rirl. all the meiifoers present except
Trustee Goo. P. Wilson.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and r.pproved.
The corr.Tunications were re,,�d and referred to the proper order
of business.
This beinT; the first Tionday after the 12th day of September, 1922, '
on which date there was held at and within unicipal Improvcment District
No. 2 of the City of Neirrport Beach, an election for the submission to the
qualified voters thereof the proposition of incurring; a debt by the
issuance of bonds of such district in the sure of %560,000.00 for the
purposes set forth in'Ordinance Ko. 213, the Doard of Trustees of the
City of Newport Beach.' beinr duly dssemblcd in adjourned regular mecti=,
and returns of said election having been duly r ,de, proceeded to canvass
the some, and frora the returns and the canvass thereof the Board of
Trustees find and order to be here established of record c.s follows:
(1) The election was regularly held in accordance with law and
the ordinances of the City of PTerrport Beach and was flairly conducted and
carried on.
(2) There was cast YES and in favor of the proposition of tre
issuance and sale of the bonds of the district in the svan of $60,000.00
176 votes.
(3) There was cast 140 and against the proposition of the
issuance and sale of the bonds of the district in the swn of ,600000.00 '
6 votes.
(4) There was cast YES and HO 182 votes.
That at the election -tiro- thirds and more of all the voters voting
thereat voted yes and in favor of incurrin,; such indebtedness and the
Board of Trustees of the City of llcwnort Beach is authorized c.nd em_nowe-red
to issue and sell the bonds of Kunicipal Improvement District 1To. 2 of the
City of Newport Beach in the stuu of ,160,000.00 payable out of the - funds
of said district and for the purposes set forth in Ordinance iio. 213 of '
the City of Newport Beach.
Trustee L. S. Wilkinson introduced a Resolution providg- in for
the issuance and sale of bonds of Tlunicipal Improvement District P-M. 2
of the Citybof Holriport Beach, prescribing the foria thereof and interest
coupons, fixing the date and place of payient, the denomination of the
bonds, the rate of interest thereon, and providing a sinhin" fund for the
redemption of the bonds and for tho pay;nent-of the semi - annual interest
thereon. The Resolution was ordered filed, read, considered., designated.
Resolution_ No. 203 and referred to the City Attorney.
ORDIN I4CE PTO, 215, entitled as follows:
"An Ordinance of the City of 1Te•,'rport Beach for the preservation
of the public health of said City, prohibiting certain acts therein, c.nd
providing penalty for ;11 violations of the Ordinance,"
was taken up for final consideration and "read, the roll was called
and the Ordnance passed by the vote of the followin; named members of
the Board of Truutees:
Ayes, Trustees J. J. Sclinitker, H. C. Sloan, Conrad Pichter,
L. S. Wilkinson.

Absent, Trustees Goo. P. Vinson.
Ordinance No. 216 :was discussed and le -id over for two weeks for
final passage.
Trustee H. C. Sloan introduced a resolution dotcrmininC that '

the City of Newport Beach should be sold, the resolution was ordered filed,
read, considered, desi.-n..ted. Resolution iio. 201, the roll :was called and

The r-iatter of disposition of the money from the sale of the gas
plant wcs discussed, and on motion of Trustee H. C. Sloan seconded by
Trustee Conrad Richter and carried, the City Attorney was instructed o
place tho disposition of the money in the Ordinance _.s outlined by him.

Richter and carried, the City Engineer ';was instructed to fan -fish the City
Attorney with the exterior bound:_-ries of the City Car-1p Groun(l ta'_cin5 in
to 19th Street.
On motion'of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by T ustee ii. C.
Sloan and carried, the meeting adjourned to 7:30 o'clock rP. on ionday,
Sept. 252 1922.
