Sloan seconded by Trustee Conrad Richter am'. carried, the request of John i:Ic Mi'llan for two creeks vacation was granted. On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee Geo. P. Wilson and carried, the City Clerk was instructed to notify L.r. Fulkerson that the oil pipe line matter has to be determined by the people at the election to be held on the 20th inst. On motion of Trustee II. C. Sloan seconded by Trustee Conrad. Richter and carried, that demands No. 621 to 763 inclusive, having been signed and approved by the Finance Committee, were allowed and warrants to be drawn for same. There being no further business, on motion of Trustee H. ' C. Sloan seconded by Trustee L. S. Wilkinson and carried, the meeting adjourned to 7:30 o'clock p.m. on ;,Ibnday, November 12, 1923. The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in regular adjourned session at 7 :30 o'clock p.m. on above date. The roll was called sholwring President J. J. Schnitker absent, and on motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H:'C.' Sloan and carried, Trustee Geo. P-. 'IJilson was elected President pro tem. The -minutes of the previous meeting tiere read and approved. Trustee Geo. P. Wilson reported for the committee on the communication from Publicity Agent, Harry .7elch, recommending the newspaper advertising but thought the allowance was too small for a Float for the,, Tournament of Roses, and on motion of Trustee L. S. 7'ilkinson seconded by Trustee Conrad Richter and carried, the advertising in the newspapers as recommended was to be arranged for, but the matter of the float was referred back for further light as to the amount necessary. A communication eras read from Street Superintendent Rinehart, and on motion of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, the action of the Street Superintendent in � dismissing the two employees concerned in the raid Saturday was approved. This being the hour and place appointed for hearing objections to the assessment filed October 30, 1923 for the improvement of portions of Coast Boulevard and other streets under Resolution of Intention No. 223, the Clerk reported that no :,mitten objections had been filed thereto. The President of the Board then asked if anyone present had any objections but no one responded, thereupon Trustee 173. C. Sloan introduced a Resolution confi_^ming the assessment for the improvement of certain portions of Coast Boulevard Place, Coast Boulevard, 29t'_- Street, 36th Strect, Finley Avenue and of a certain alley in said City. The Resolution was ordered filed, read, con- sidered, designated Resolution No. 268, the roll was called and the Resolution passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees H.-C. Sloan, Geo. P. This being the time fixed by Resolution of Intention No. 266 passed October 15, 1923, for hearing protests in the matter of the improvement therein described, and no written protests having been 1 C r 153 filed ,-rith t }:e City Clerk in said matter, and no persons desiring to be heard in the matter of said protests, vrhereupon Trustee Conrad Richter presented and moved the adoption of Resolution PIo. 269 entitled, A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the -City of Newport Beach ordering certain work upon certain portions of 36th Street and Finley Avenue within said City, rhich motion .ras seconded by Trustee L. S. Wilkinson and harried by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees H. C. Sloan, Geo. P. Wilson, Conrad Richter, L. S. Wilkinson. Noes, Trustees hone. Absent, Trustee J. J. Schnitker. Further hearing of protests on Resolution of Intention "o. 250 for vacating a portion of Coast Boulevard were continued to 7:30 o1clock p. m. on 1.1onday, November 19, 1923. The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in regular adjourned session at 7:30 o'clock p.m. on above date. The meeting was called to order by President J. J. Schnitker. The roll. was called showing the full Board present. The minutes of the previous meeting -were read and approved. This being the day and hour set.for opening bids on the r Comfort Station at Balboa, the Board in open session publicly opened, examined and declared all sealed bids received, which bids are as follows: J. Simon Fluor, for East Xe- viport Station, - -- - 2,753.00 It It " Balboa Station, - - - - - - - 6,858.00 The bids were discussed as not conforming to the notice calling for bids, and on motion of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan ant] carried, the matter was laid over until the City Attorney comes. On motion of Trustee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee H. C. Sloan and carried, a Resolution instructing the President to file an application with the State Board of Health for a permit to construct a sevrage collecting system and treatment works for that portion of the City known as Balboa Island, was passed. On motion of Trus'iee L. S. Wilkinson seconded by Trustee Geo. P. °lilson and carried, the matter of the disposal of the timbers out of the old nestle and the value of the buildings on the wharf together with the cost of removing same, was referred to the Street Committee to make a recoimiendation at the next meeting. The matter of some one to go to Washington next month in the interest of our Harbor 17as' discussed, and on motion of Trustee L. S. i'lilkinson seconded by Trustee Conrad Richter, Llajor Chas. T. Leeds ,.Vas appointed as the representative of the City with Harry Welch as alternate, and x;600.00 was set aside out of the advertising fund to defray the expense of the trip by the following vote:
