the meeting,was adjourned until September,2 221924 at 7.30 P.I,I.

City Hall,Newport Beach,Sept.2221924.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach,met in session
at the council chamber on the above date. The roll was called showing the
full board present except Pre ,sident Geo. P.17111son. On motion of Trustee
Richter, seconded by Trustee Youn „':and`:earried ,,Trustee Sloan was chosen
to serve as- President Pro Tem.
On motion of trustee Young,seconded by Trustee Richter and
carried,the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed
with.
This being the day and hour set for the opening of bids on
construction of water mains in section three of Balboa Island,the bids
of the following parties,Hartley Camp Construction Co.,F.A.Daley and H.H.
Peterson,were opended and on motion of Trustee Richter,seconded by
Trustee Wilkinson and carried,all bids were referred to the City Engineer
for recommendation and report at the next meeting of the council.
This being the hour and place set for the hearing of all protests
in the proposed abandonment of certain streets and alleys at Corona Del
Mar as described in Resolution of Intention No.290,the clerk did at this
meeting present all written protests received by him together with the ,
date of filing to the Council of the City of Newport Beach. Verbal pro -.
tests were heard and the matter discussed at great length.Thereupon,on m
motion of Trustee Vilkinson,seconded by Trustee Richter,a.nd carried by
the following Vote:Ayes,Trustees S1oan,Young,Richter and Wilkinson,
Noes,none,Absent Trustee 13ilson,the protests were sustained and the clerk
was ordered to write I.1r.Sparr that the plan of abandonment did not meet
withthe approval of the Board.
City Attorney Clyde Bisop suggested that an attempt be made to
purchase from Mr.Sparr portions of the frontage along the bay for the
City.The plan was discussed and on motion of Trustee 'ililkinson,seconded by
Trustee Young and carried,a committee was ordered appointed to investigate
the matter and find what the wish of the people was in regard to the
matter along with the cost of the improvement.
ORDINANCE No.264,An Ordinance of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Newport Beach establishing ffljr1niays along certain portions of the
roadway of Park Avenue on Balboa Island within said City -was taken up for
final consideration and passed by the following vote:
Ayes,Trustees Sloan,Young,Richter and Wilkinson. Noes,none, Absent
Trustee Wilson.
City Eng'neer Kressly,in reporting on the request of the F.A.
Daley Co. for the removal of dirt from the alley in Block 444 east of the
county highway,sta.ted that he would. not recommend that any dirt be
removed-On motion of T ustee Young,seconded by Trusteee Wilkinson and
carried,the report of the City Engineer was accepted and application denied.
A coru.iunication was received-from ➢ir.Lee Pfau of Balboa and '
having been read was referred to the City Attorney.
On motion of Trustee P;ilkinson seconded by Trusteee Young
and carried,the meeting was adjourned Sine Die.
