On motion of trustee Wilkinson seconded by trustee Richter, a
nertified public accountant was ordered employed to go into all
records necessary to clear up the matter on hand. President Geo. P.Wilson
being an officer of the First National Bank of Newport Beach, was excused
from voting upon the motion. Thereupon the roll was called the vote being
cast in the following manner.
Trustee Sloan in the CHLair.
Ayes; Trustees Sloan, Young, Richter and Wilkinson.
Noes; Trustees, None.
Absent Trustees, None.
President,Geo.P.Wilson, not voting.
It was moved by trustee Richter and seconded by trustee Young, that
chairman Pro Tem Sloan appoint a committee of two city Trustees
and one citizen to investigate and report on the selection of a
certified public Accountant for the audit of books of the City
Treasurer and Firb.t National Bank of Newport Beach to determine the amount
of interest due on city funds.
The roll was then called, the trustees voting in the following
manner. Ayes: Trustees, Sloan, Young, Richter and Wilkinson.
Noes; Trustees None.
Absent; Trustees None
President Geo.P.Wilson excused from voting.
President Pro Tem Sloan requested time in which to thinkover
the matter before appointing the committee which reqaest was unanimously
granted. There being no further business, on motion of trustee Wilkinson
seconded by trustee Richter and carried the meeting was adjourned.

City Hall Newport Beach, Oct. 24, 1924.
Pursuant to a call thereof by the president of the Board of
Trustees and notice delivered to each member at least three hours before
the time specified for the meeting, the board of trustees met at the
place and on the date above mentioned at 7;30 o'clock P.M..
The meeting was called to order by President Geo.P.Vlilson
The roll was called showing the full board present. The call was read
and the board proceeded to consider the subject for which the meeting
was called..
A representative of the Kelly Gaul Co., Mr. Lewis addressed
the Board, giving his bid of $35.00 per day for senior accountant and
$15.00 per day for Junior accountant* and said that a reasonable expense
account would also he necessary for hotel bills meals ect.
Mr. Crenshaw, of the Albine Johnson Co., was then called upon
and called attention of the Board to the fact that he was familiar
with the city auditing and as. the firm had an office in Santa Ana, that
would be no hotel bil s.
The bid of The Albine E.Johnson Co., was $15. per day for
accountant doing detail work and $25.00 per day for senior accountant.,
After some discussion on motion of trustee Wilkinson seconded
by trustee Young, it was moved that the Albine E.Johnson Co. be employed to
the work as per their submitted bid. Thereupon the roll was called the
Trustees voting in the following manner.
Ayes: Trustees Wilson, Sloan, Young, Richter and Wilkinson
Noes; Trustees None.
Absent; Trustees, None.
There.being no further business on motion of trustee Wilkinson
seconded by trustee Richter, and carried, the Peeting was adjourned.
