The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach net in regular session
on the above date. The meeting was called to order by Pres. Geo.P.'.7ilson
The minutes of the meetings of January 5 and 7 were read and having been
amended were approved. The roll was called shorting the full bot�.rd
p esent.
Trustee Conrad Richter gave areport on the request of the
Santa Ana Symphony Orchestra proposition and stated that the matter
had been given consider -tion and that no money seemed available at
this time the Cor�:iittee reco..L,eded that the manager be advised of tho
fact and the clerk instructed to write.
Trustee Sloan introduced the following:

1::?r.John Harbey, presented the T3oard of Trustees with a proposed
ab;ndoraent and re- subdivision and dedication of certc.in streets and
alleys in Block Eight (8)4?of Section Five (5) of Balboa Island.
On motion of Trustee Sloan seconded by trustee l7i11-inson and
carried, City Engineer Kressly ryas instructed to prepare proceedings fr, r;:
the proposed improvement. ,
On :.otion of Trustee il'_:inson and seconded by trustee Young
and carried, the Plizibcr's bond of E.J.Allen, Navin* been approved
by the City Attorney was ordered accepted and filed,
A committee of Trustee Richter and Trustee Sloan a�eported
to the Board that they had ;,one over the bouys in the harbor .i;.th
deputy Harbor Master Spofford and recommended that all balk moorings
•:risen boats not anchored in the harbor be lighted at night a c? also
recommended the purc;Lase of twenty bouys costing ; 20.00 eac'r_ bo be used
in marking the channel. The matter was discussed and _t was decided to
lay over the matter of ne•:i bout's until the audit report 1-,ap su3xiitted.,
On motion of Trustee Richter seconded by trustee Young and carried, the
harbor Master was instructed to have. all bouys in the harbor marked and
given authority to arrest any persons not complying with t_-Io instructions
received.
R.J.Shafer stated ato the board that he would furnish a boat '
at the pier if the city would furnish davits. The matter was feferred
to resident engineer S.a..Cundiff.•
