April 6,1925 .
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach, met
in regular session on the above date at 7 :30 o'clock P.M.. The
meeting was called to order by president Geo.F.Wilson, The roll was
called showing the full board present. Minutes of the.previous
meeting were read and approved. Reports of Heads of Departments
were read and on motion of Trustee Wilkinson, seconded by trustee
Young, and carried, were approved and ordered filed. Communications
were read and referred to the proper order of business.
MINANCE No.275.
AN ORDIRANCE of the city of Newport Beach establishing a
District or zone within the city in which it shall be lawful to conduct
carry on, and maintain the business of drilling for, developing,producing,
storing and refining Petroleu];,Oil, Gas, and other hydrocarbon substances
presecribing regulations and restructions to be enforced within said
district prohibiting the carrying on of any such business in any other
part of the City of Newport Beach, declaring the carrying on of any suds
business in that part of the City of Neqport Beach, where the same is
prohibited by the Ordinance, to constitute a nuisance, providing for its
abatement, and presecibing penalties for all violations of this ordinance"

Mr. Chas. N.Frick presented a map of Tract No.756, the
date of hearing for the final action was set for.�.Rpril 7,1925 at 7:30
P.M.
The proposition of raising the lecense on ice peddlers in the
City of Newport Beach, was continued to the first regular meeting of the
Board. Trustees Young and Sloan being appointed to investigate the
Matter further.
In the Matter of Street Lights for Coast Boulevard:
Trustee Sloan moved the adoption of the following,

°A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport
Beach adopting certain plans for the improvement d certain portions of
Coast Boulevard within said city, 11 which motion was seconded by Trustee
Young and passed by the following vote,
Ayes: Trustees Geo.P.Wilson, H.C.Sloan Conrad Richter Fred
Wooung, and L.S.Wilkinson.
Noes: Trustees, None. \
Absent: Trustees, None.
This being the time fixed for opening bids for certain work
on certain ortions of Park Avenue and certain other streets and avenues
on Balboa I land, within the City of Newport Beach, as contemplated by
Resolution of Intention No.323, of this Board, the Board in open session,
publicly opened, examined and declared all sealed bids received for
said work, to -wit:

9hereupon, Trustee Wilkinson, presented and moved the
adoption of Resolution No.329 entitled:

"A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the city of Newport
Beach awarding-the contract for certain viork on certain portions of Park
Avenue and certain other streets and avenues on Balboa Island, within said
City ", which motion was seconded ty Trustee Sloan, and adopted
by the folloting vote:
Ayes: Trustees, Geo.P.Wilsori, H.C.Sloan, Fred W.Young,
Conbad Richter and L.S.Wilkinson. .
Noes: Trustees, None.
' Absent: Trustees,None.
Trustee Wilkinson moved the adoption of the following
RESOLUTION #331
"A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport
Beach, declaring their intention to order.the improvement of Coast
Boulevard within said city, under the improvement act of 1911, and the
amendments to said act," which motion was seconded by Trustee Richter
and passed by the following vote.
Ayes: Trustees, Ge v -PWi &son, #.Sloan, Fred Young,Genrad.
Richter slid Ty�.Wilkinson.
Noes: Trustees, None,
Absent; Trustees, None.
Application to erect a pier in front of Lots 5 to 19
Block 15 Section 3 Balboa Island, W.C.Spencer owner, was referred to the
City Engineer for two weeks.
Application to erect a pier in front of Lot 15 Block 14
Sec.3 Balboa Island, Frank Smith Owner, was referred to the City Engineer
for two weeks.
Application to erect a pier in front of Lots 1 and 2 Block
"N ", Balboa East Side Division, Dr.Hubbard Owner was referred to the
City Engineer' for two weeks.
'A communication regarding the triangular strip on Oentral
Avenue, was read in which Mrs. Edna R.Storey offered to convey the City
of Negi;ort Beach the above mentioned strip and a 30ft strip running to
the Bay, for $900.00 On motion of Trustee Wilkinson, seconded by Trustee
Young and carried, the offer was accepted and transfer ordered completed.
City Marshall J.A.Porter.read a petition from Mr. J.A.
Jeancon in which refund on penalties on accrued taxes on Lots 1,2,3,and 4
of Block 337 Gahal Section, iias asked, stating that he had been in the
army and did not know exemptions could be filed. The matter was referred
to City Attorney Bishop who stated that refund could not be legally madd.
Thereupon, Mr.Porter was asked to write Mr.Jeancon as to the action of the
Board.
Application for permit to operate a lunch stand at 2160
Ocean Avenue R.L.Long proprietor, was read and on motion of Trustee
Wilkinson, seconded by Trustee Sloan, and carried, the application was
allowed and permission granted.
On motion of Trustee Wilkinson, seconded by trustee Sloan
ai'td carried, warrants as approved by the finance committee were allowed and
warrants ordered drawn.
There being no further
seconded by Trustee Young and carried,
April 7,th at 7:30 P.M.
