position of Water Superintendent was allowed and Freeman A.Daley was
appointed Water Superintendent, appointment to take effect August 1st
1925, all upon call of the roll and carried by the following vote.
AYES Trustees H.C.Sloan,Conrad Richter,Fred Pd.Young, and L.S.Wilkinson
NOES- Trustee Geo.P.Wilson
ABSENT TRUSTEES None.
On motion of Trustee Sloan, seconded by Trustee Young and carried
the President of the Board was instructed to plan acceptable danger
signs to be placed along the Beach to take the place of the danger signs
now in use.
There being no further business, on motion of Trustee Wilkinson
seconded by Trustee Sloan and carried, the meeting was adjourned to
.5 o'clock P.M. Thursday, July 30, 1935.

The Board'of Trustees of the City of Newport teach met in regular ad-
journed session on the above date at 5:00 P.ff;
The meeting was called to'order by Pres.Geo.P.Wilson. The roll was
called showing the full Board present. The discussion of the Water Bond
issue,the reading of the minutes of the previous special business meeting
was laid over to the next meeting.
City Engineer again presented his plan for completion of the `dater
System of the City of Newport Beach, The plan was shown having been
discussed to some length.
RESOLUTION- 110. 337 ENTITL'D AS FOLLONS:
"A Resolution of the City of Newport beach,a municipal corporation
under the laws of the State of California, by its Board of Trustees as
a Legislative Branch thereof, determining that the public interest and
also the public necessity demands the eompletion'by the City of Newport
-beach of the municipal water works of said City, and that same is neces-
-sary and convenient to carry out the objects, pur oses and powers of the
municipality, the costs of which will be too gxea to be paid out of the
ordinary annual income and revenue of the City of Newport beach..
' was taken up for final consideration. The resolution was read considered,
the roll was called and the resolution passed ty the vote of the following
named two - thirds and more of all the members of the Board of Trustees of
the City of Newport Beach, and was there upon signed and approved by the
President of the Board of Trustees and certified by the Clerk.

L.S.Wilkinson.
NOES Trustees None.
ABSENT Trustees None.
A communication addressed to Dr.Conrad Richter regardligg the
election of the U.S.Local Inspectors of the Depart4ient of Commerce in
the matter of the THELMA case, was read and ordered filed for future
reference.

A resolution from the Balboa Chamber...of.Commerce was read in which
the Balboa Chamber of Commerce unanimously went on.record as favoring a
$3509000.00 -Water Bond Issue. On motion of Trustee Sloan, seconded by
Trustee Richter and carried the resolution was accepted and ordered filed.
There being no further business on motion of Trustee Young,seconded
by Trustee Richter and carried the meeting was adjourned SINE DIE.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach met in regular
session on the above date at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The meeting was called
to order by.Pres Geo.P.Wilson. The roll was called showing the full
Board present with the exception of Trustee Richter who was absent on
Leave. The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved.
Reports of heads of departments were read and on motion of Trustees
Wilkinson, seconded by Trustee Young and carried, the reports were ac-
cepted and ordered filed.

A petition signed by 17 property owners protesting the further use.'
of the float at the end of fiontero Street was read and on motion of '
Trustee Wilkinson, seconded by Trustee Sloan and carried the Clerk was
ordered to communicate with Xr Erhorn and notify him of the petition
and ask fir Erhorn to show,cause why the float should not be removed.
On motion of Trustee Young seconded by Trustee Wilkinson and car-
ried a transfer of bieense N.o. 234 issued to W.B.Barnard and Son was
allowed to E.N.Stifflero
fOn motion of Trustee Wilkinson, 'seconded by Trustee Sloah and carrie
leave of absence was granted to,City Marshall-J.A.Porter from August 6,
to August 19th, 1925.
On motion of Trustee Young, seconded by Trustee Sloan and carried
the following transfer of funds.as requested by the City Treasurer was
allowed.
On motion of Trustee Wilkinson, seconded by Trustee Young and car- ,
ried a committee of Four was ordered appointed to see the Pacific
Electric Officials regarding a traffic plan presented to the Board of
Trustees by the Balboa Chamber of Commerce regarding the condemnation
of private property from Alvarado to B Street, the condemned property
to be traded to the Pacific Electric Company for their Right of Way
from Alvarado to-"B" Street. The committee appointed was S1oan,Greeley,
Robotham and Welsh.
A communication from the Street Superintendent stating that a re-
quest had been made for the erection of a Band Stand at the foot of
22nd Street on the Ocean Front. On motion of Trustee Sloan,seconded by
Trustee Wilkinson and carried the request was granted subject to the
will of the Board.
