The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach, met in
regular session on the above date, at 7 :30 o'clock P. I:. The meeting
was called to order by President George P. '.- .ilson. The roll :;as call-
ed, showing ':he full Board present, except Trustee Sloan.
The minutes of the pr ^vious meeting were read and approved.
Under reports of Speci,.l and Standing Committees, City
i+:arsh.al, J. A. Porter, reported that the 17estern Blind Co. had made
a survey of the Blinds in the City Hall, and were repairin7 them.
President Mlson reporting on the meeting of the committee
as a whole, stated that the committee reported fworebly on the let -
ting of a live bait concession on the Balboa Pier to A. R. Russell.
The complaint o� I:Ir. ?7hitstine against the Deputy Harbor
Laster was reported still in the hands of the committee.
The Gas Ordinance investigation was referred ' -.ack to the
County of Orange for more information.
The matter of the purchase of the 10 foot strip from B. K.
Stone was still in the hands of the committee.
The committee reported that they were in favor of raising
the salary of the City Attorney from $11)0.00 to "150.00 per month, and
recommended that the raise in salary be alloyed.
The report of the City Planning Commission on the abandon-
ment of Dahlia i.venue and the alleys D ^ssinrr throu.h blocirs 231 and
232 was rend and recommended the abandonment.
The City Attorney filed the Grant deed of the P. E. Right
of 'lay from "B" Street to the Blanken Horne Tract, with the City* Clerk.,
OPENING OF BIDS.
This being the hour set forth in Resolution I'o. 342 for the
opening of bids on the construction of a 1.:U1FICIP.tL ATER '.'ORKS COKPLE�
TION(1925), the Board. of Trustees of the City of Newport Be•ch proceed-
ed to publicly open, examine and declare all bids. Thereupon, on i.iotion
of Trustee Young, seconded by Trustee Richter, and carried, ^11 bid-s
were referred to the City En -ineer for investigation and recommendation.

end that the nroceeds of the sale be used for tl:e construction of a_
residence at tho Corona Del ::ar pumping plant, was referred to the

On motion of Trustee Richter, seconded by Trustee Young,

Board June 1, 1925, was approved by the following vote, to -wit :'

Building Inspector, said apnointment to become effective December 1,
1825.
On motion of Trustee ::il'. {inson, seconded by Trustee Richter,
and carried, the transfer of funds as requested were approved ^nd
ordered made.
On motion of Trustee C.`ilkinson, seconded by Trustee Young,
and carried, the appropriations asked for by heads of den•trtments •:•ere
alloi:,od, and the money asked for set aside.
City I,.arshal, J. A. Porter, addressed the Bofird -nd request-
, ed th ^t the salaries of Lars. Ruth Griffin, John F;elsh, and himself be
r ^.ised. There being no objections, the matter was referred to the
committee of the whole.

The Board of Trustees of the City of ver!port Beach met in
regular adiourned session on the above date at 7 :30 o'clock P. i.:.
The meeting was called to order by the President, George I'. 'lilson.
The roll was called, shoeing the full Board present, with the exception
of Trustee Sloan.
The readin; of the minutes of the orevious meeting -.ere dis-
pensed •with.
City Engineer Kressly reported his find.ins on the bids for
the T.:unicipal :'later ':!orks Completion of the City of p ?eeport Boic h.
The Board heard and considered the recommendation of the n ineer as
to the letting of the contract, and after some discussion, took the
follo-.-ring action.
For the construction of a 3,000,000 gallon concrete reser-
voir, the lovrest bid being reported as below the actual cost of the
material, all bids crere referr,d back to the City Engineer for further '
investi,;ation and report.
Er. Sr ^- '.^ook addressed the Board and sta'. ^d that an error
had been made.in figuring the cost of the reservoir, and requested the
permission of the Board to withdraw his 'Jid.
On motion of Trustee Wilkinson, the construction of "!ood
stave Pipe Line Was awarded to the Pacific Tank 2. Pipe Co. at the
price co-tained in their nroposal of , and the bids of all
contractors except that of the Pacific Rank & Pipe Co. be rejected,
and the checks of all unsuccessful bidders :ere ordered returned.
The motion was seconded by Trustee Young, end passed by the followinC
vote.

proposal, !and that all bids except thet of the Stroud Bros. & Seabrook
be rejected, and the checks of all unsuccessful bidders be rcturrod
to them. The motion was seconded by Trustee Richter, and upon call of
the roll, was passed ,)y the following vote.
