Porter was appointed as Treasurer to hold office till the next regular election. On motion of Trustee Sloan, seconded by Trustee Wilkinson , and carried, the meeting was adjourned. ' The Board of Trustees of the City of Ner:)ort Beach met in regular session on the above dc.te at 7:30 o'clock P. :. The meeting was cE..11ed to order by President Geo. P. Nilson. The roll was called showing the full Board present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and having been revised, were approved. On motion of Trustee Wilkinson, seconded by Trustee Young, and carried, the minutes of the Special meeting of January 22, 1926 having been amended, were approved as amended. Communications were read and referred to the ?roper order of business. Trustee Wilson handed the Clerk the certificEte of title and deed to the neater be,.rin� land from the Associated Oil Coinaany and stated that there r,as a ;p10.00 charge for bringing down the cer-L- ficate to date. On motion of Trustee Sloan, seconded by Trustee Young, and carried, the President and Clerk were authorized to drm7 a war- rant for F10.00 in payment of the charge. Mr. George Peabody addressed the Board for City ' Advertising Manager Harry Telch, who v,a.s sick and unable to attend the meeting. Mr. Peabody explained a publicity plan for the coining Harbor Bond Election. It ryas proposed to have Rogers Aircraft people make photographs from the air of Nev-port Harbor and vicinity. The price of the photograph r•as said to be ;;50.00 per scuare mile. The matter -.-as discussed and on ;notion of Trustee Wilkinson, seconded uy Trustee Young, and cerried, the publicity agent was instr.cted to order the picture as proposed, and the cost to be paid out'of the City Publicity Fund, ,nd ordered set aside when the amount was knoi-n. It was estilnated by Mr. Peabody that the entire cost of the propos- ition r*culd be approximately N900.00. 319 On motion of Trustee Sloan, seconded by Trustee Richter, and carried, the bond of J. A. Porter, City Treasurer, by the American Surety Com-)any as surety in the sum of $y100,000.00 was approved and ordered filed. A communication was received from Mr. F. A. Daley in which he requested thatthe Board;of Trustees allow him a raise of =50.00 a month to be paid out.of the current expense fund in con - nection with his salary as Sev:er.Superintendent. On motion of Trustee Wilkinson, seconded by Trustee ' Sloan, end carried, the City Clerk was instructed to write four or five Cities of the sixth class to see if the Sevier and Water Depart- ments were handled under one head, or v,hether the offices T ^ere divided, also asked to ascertain the pay that the various heads in these deoartments received. A communication from the Masonic Homes in regard to the erection of a sea call on Balboa Island wa.s referred to the City Engineer. A.comnunication was received from Cdr. Ben Cone for permission to construct a pier for C. F. Alexson in front of Lot 4, Block 11, Section 1, Balboa Island Tract, there-being no objections the matter was referred to the City Engineer for the usual t:-..,o v.eeks. On motion of Trustee Sloan, seconded b-, Trustee Wilkinson, and carried, the request of Ben Cope for -)ermission to construct a Marine Ways and Cra.ddle on the nro-)erty of P. B. Plunio i at Lot 4, Block 21, East Side Ad=ition to the Balboa Tract, and Der - mission to construct a ;Marine Ways and Crvddle on the rorooerty of W1 R. Hervey at Lot 4, Block 27, East Side Addition to.Baiboa Tract, hcxing been laid over for two weeks and being ap_)roved by the City Engineer, were allowed subject to the i7.-ill of the Board. Trustee L. S. Wilkinson introduced an Ordinance amend- ing.certain sections of Ordinance No. 182, of the City of Newport Beach. , T'r_e Ordinance was ordered.filed, read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 288 and referred to the City Attorney. . Trustee Fred 111,1. Young, introduced an ordin::nce amend - ing certain sections of Ordinance No. 207 and adding certain other new sections thereto. The of inance was ordered filed, read, con- sidered; designated Ordinance No. 290 and referredt:) the City Attorney.
