ATTEST: Mga.4 PA._ Is City Cle k December 15, 1955 The City Council of the City of Newport Beach met in adjourned regular session in the Council Chambers of the City Hall at the hour of 4:00 P.M. The roll was called, the following members being present: Councilmen Bennett, Wilder, Stoddard, Higbie, Ridderhof and Hill; Councilman MacKay being absent. COMMUNICATIONS The Clerk presented a letter from Councilman Sandy F. MacKay, dated December 14, 1955. Said letter states that Councilman MacKay will be absent from the State during the Christmas Holidays and requests permission to miss the Council Meeting scheduled for December 27, 1955. On motion of Councilman Bennett, seconded by Councilman Stoddard and carried, said request was granted. LICENSES Three Applications for License were presented: Beach Amusement Co., Clyde Denlinger, for skill games to be installed at Crows Nest and Coves, 4323 Coast Highway, (pool table); skill game, Stag Amusement Par- lor, 2111 McFadden Place, (shuffle bowler); skill game, The Arches Cafe, 3334 West Coast Highway, (shuffle bowler). On motion of Councilman Bennett, seconded by Councilman Wilder and carried, said applications were approved by the following roll call vote, to wit: AYES, COUNCILMEN: Bennett, Wilder, Higbie, Ridderhof NOES, COUNCILMEN: Stoddard, Hill ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: MacKay NEW BUSINESS FIRWI adjourned until 159 1955 at 4:00 Adjourned Regular Session. Roll Call. Request of Councilman Sandy MacKay to be absent from the State during the Christmas Holidays. Granted. Beach Amusement Co Clvde Denlinger, for skill games. Approved. The Oath of Office of Vera C. Lilienthal as Deputy Oath of Office_ of Vera C. City Treasurer, was presented. On motion of Councilman Lilienthal as Deputy City Bennett, seconded by Councilman Higbie and carried, said Treasurer. Apl- roved. oath was approved. ADDITIONAL BUSINESS The City Engineer presented the plans and specifi- cations for the improvement of the City owned Trailer Park, as shown on Engineer's Drawing No. 144 -2365. A discussion was had, Mr. Peyton, Trailer Park consultant, speaking from the floor. On motion of Councilman Rid - derhof, seconded by Councilman Bennett and carried, said plans and specifications were approved as recommended by the City Engineer, and the City Clerk was instructed to adveftise for bids to be submitted on or before 7:30 P.M., January 9, 19569 by the following roll call vote, to wit: AYES, COUNCILMEN: Bennett, Wilder, Stoddard, Higbie, Ridderhof, Hill NOES, COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: MacKay Trailer Paxk_Im�rovement. Flans and Specs. approved and C. Eng. auth. to call for bids on January 9, 1956. Trailer Park lmprovement. C. Eng. instructed to ask for bids for the dredging of the beach between the 19th Street Pier and the Easterly line of the Trailer Park. A further discussion was had regarding the Trailer Park and, on motion of Councilman Ridderhof, seconded by CouncGilman Wilder and carried, the City Engineer was instructed to ask for bids at this time for the dredg- ing of the beach between the 19th Street Pier and the Easterly line of the Trailer Park, in order that said dredging may be completed on or before May 11 1956, by the following roll call vote, to wit: Apo. for Permit of Ralph The City Engineer presented the Application for erz, to construct a con- Permit of Ralph Merz, to construct a concrete bulkhead crete bulkhead. On motion of Councilman Higbie, seconded by Councilman Ridderhof and carried, the reading of the minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of December 13, 1955 was waived and they were approved as written and ordered filed. On motion of Councilman Bennett, sec- onded by Councilman Ridderhof and carried, the reading of the minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of December 15, 1955 was waived and they were approved as written and ordered filed.
