The Final Map of Tract No. 3357, Cameo
Shores, was presented for consideration.
Inasmuch as the City has no means of trans-
mitting water to the proposed subdivision,
the City Manager stated that Mr. William
Spurgeon, III, was in the audience to
describe arrangements which could be made
with The Irvine Company.
Mr. Spurgeon, speaking as a Vice President
of The Irvine Company, and authorized by
officials of said company so to do, stated
that The Irvine Company will transfer to
the City of Newport Beach a percentage of
The Irvine Company's percentage interest
in the line capacity of a certain 301° water
line in subject area, in a percentage
quantity sufficient to supply the needs of
the Cameo Shores subdivision; that said
interest is transferable and that a
document transferring said interest will be
prepared and furnished the City; that The
Irvine Company has a 42% capacity right in
said 30i° line; said offer is conditioned
that the City of Newport Beach will pick up
the percentage of the maintenance costs of
said line in an amount equivalent to its
percentage rights in the line; further
conditioned that the City limit the water
drawn from said line for the specific
purpose of furnishing water to the subject
subdivision.
Mr. Leslie Steffensen spoke from the
audience on behalf of the subdividers
urging the acceptance of The Irvine
Company's proposal.
