REPEALING CHAPTER 5 OF ARTICLE VIII OF THE
NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE AND ENACTING
A NEW CHAPTER 5 OF ARTICLE VIII RELATING
TO SIGNS,
was presented for second reading.
The following people spoke from the audience
opposing the adoption of said ordinance: Jack
Barnett, who submitted a list of objections
• raised by the Board of Directors of the Newport
Harbor Chamber of Commerce, Jack Reintz, ;
representing Coca Cola Bottling Company, Ben ;
Reddick, David Larson of Foster and Kleiser ;
Company, who submitted a letter substantiating ;
his objections, Hugh Mynatt, representing Dick ;
Richard and the Chambers of Commerce committee. '

audience regarding efforts to keep those
interested informed of proposed changes in said
ordinance.

rights" to use of beach frontage, and calling
attention to sand which has been deposited in
the Canal by a property owner who had done
some dredging.
The Public Works Director reported that the
groin had been repaired.
