All Ayes HEARING: (Agenda Item F) Mayor Stoddard opened a.public hearing regarding the, ap- peal of Castleman and Barbara Wilson, 2045 Ocean Boule- vard, Balboa, from the decision of the Planning Commission ing in.the, conditionally granting of Use Permit No. 703, said decision requiring a.2'6" setback for a, second floor bedroo it addition over an existing garage which has. a zero setback. on a. 20' alley; Lot 20, Block D, Tract No. 518, Zone R -1. on 5 The City Clerk read the findings of the Planning Commission. The following people participated in the discussion: Mr. Wilson, who presented photographs purporting to indicate that others in the vicinity have the encroachment that he. re- quested; Daniel Park and Dick Hedwig, supporting Mr. Wilson; Planning Director J. Explorer Scout Sven Pretorious reported regarding the progress of the fallout shelter constructed at the Corporation Yard.by the Explorer Scouts. The. recommendation that the Council appoint a Committee Motion x to further study fluoridation was.tabled. All Ayes .It was stated that the City Manager is investigating, the pos- sibility of obtaining, a simple phone, number for calling, the Fire Department, and will report on the matter to the Coun- cil.
