;(Agenda Item K -10) An appeal of June Knapp from the
decision.of the Planning Commission conditionally grant -
.ing.Application.for Use Permit No.. 722 for permission to
make major alterations to a nonconforming, apartment
building at 114 - 22d Street, Newport Beach, Lot .13,
Block. 21, Zone C -1, was set for hearing at an adjourned
regular meeting of the, City Council to be held on May 15,
1961,: at 7:.30 P.M.
COMMUNICATIONS, - ADVISORY:
I. .(Agenda Item N -1) A letter was presented from Richard
R. ' Parlour, M.D. , Beverly Hills„ enclosing a..brochure
describing anew mental health.program in.the Pomona
area; stating his .interest in.eventually.locating , in ibis
community; offering his assistance :in. any, plans.,th , City
Of Newport Beach. might have, to set up a,mental health
program.
The City Manager was instructed to advise Dr. Parlour
that the City of Newport Beach has. no plan..to set up a
mental health. program.
2. The. - following ;communications, were. ordered.-filed:
,(Agenda -Item N -2) A notice:from. the Controller of the
State of California„ regarding advance. apportionment of
vehicle.license fee:reyenues..for,the 1960 -61 fiscal year;
indicating the. 75% advance. share of Newport Beach, to be
$96, 801 for the period December. 1,- 1960, .through May
31,: 1961.
(Agenda.Item N -3) A notice:from.the Controller of.the
State of California,, regarding; estimate -of apportionment
of vehicle. license. fee, revenues: for the 1961-62, fiscal
year; indicating, the. share of Newport.Beach estimated to
be $437; 500.
(Agenda Item N -4) A letter from C. H. Davis, Beverly
Hills, expressing, appreciation for, the handling, of -the
Easter vacation problem this year.
3. The- City Manager stated that his _ investigation of the re-
queat.for ,the - abandonment of the end of 8th Street at.Bay
Avenue should. be completed. by May 8,. 1961, and an
effort will be made to. give advance. notice _to..those.- inter-
ested through _.the Central Newport Beach Community
Association.
