Hearn, Presi- Assn. dent.of the,Newport Beach City Employees' Association, letter recpmmending that.ahe- Council authorize a 5% across- request- the -board raise. Mr. Hearn: spoke. from the audience. *'raise The- City'Manager reported. orally on. his survey of 5/o raise salaries paid by other employers. and recommended that CA 47 the Council. approve. selected pay, adjustments for a.5% increase in salaries for. selected classes„ i.e., Patrol - man, Fireman, Fire Engineer, Senior Lifeguard, Auto Mechanic, and Auto Mechanic Leadman (affecting 85, em- ployees) at an estimated,cost of $26,400; and.a general pay increase, of 2 -1%2% for all classes,, at an estimated cost of $67, 000. (b) The. claim for damage of Ray Gabler,: alleging damages in the. amount of $10, 300 -for injuries sustained and damage to his vehicle, incurred on April 29, 1961, when his motorcycle collided with a chain on the Iris Avenue ramp approach to the Corona del Mar State and City Beach Park. 4.
