Lon Alex Bowie and Dennis Menke, attorneys at law, of the Is firm of Rutan and Tucker, representing Kadane Oil Company, spoke from the audience objecting to the' proposed development. Councilman Marshall rephrased her motion to approve the Tentative Map for Tract No. 5711 subject to all the Planning Commission conditions and all Public Works Department conditions, with the exception of No. 10, with the understanding that the problems about the standard parkway and the sidewalk can be adjusted when the Final Map is presented. Mr. Hancock Banning, representing the owners of the act fee simple interest of the property, spoke from the audience. The Tentative Map for Tract No. 5711 was approved subject to all the conditions of the Planning Commission and all the conditions of the Public Works Department with the exception of No. 10, with the understanding that the problems about the standard parkway and the sidewalk can be adjusted when the Final Map is presented, and the additional condition that Bluff Motion x Road be improved to Pacific Coast Highway to provide Ayes x x x x x adequate entrance to the Tract. Cox, 3301 Pacific Coast Highway, Newpor Beach, to widen fingers for storage lockers and add a fuel dock, bayward of a portion of Section 28, T6S, R10W, S. B. B. & M., subject to the approval of the U. S. Corps of Engineers. Attorney Charles Schlegel, representing Thomas C. Cox, and Mr. Cox spoke from the audience. The gas dock was approved and allowed without the Motion x structure, and the request to widen the fingers for Ayes x x x storage lockers was approved. Absent x x 4. Weiss protesting the arrest b manner in which the Police Department arrested two of P.D. his clients in connection with a violation of the ordinance CA -39 prohibiting drinking of beer on the beach, was ordered filed. Claims 2. The following Claims for Damages were denied, and the for City Clerk's referral of matters to the insurance Damages carriers was confirmed: • (a) Claim of Vivian E. Troutman and Interstate Insurance Exchange of Automobile Club of Southern California for alleged damage to the Troutman car on June 5, 1964, when struck by a City of Newport Beach vehicle (b) Claim of Carmela F. Lewis for alleged damage to her premises when at boy, playing at the Community Youth Center, hit a ball through her window on July 21, 1964. CA -84 (c) Claim of Robert K.. Lowry for alleged damages incurred when a City trash truck backed into Mr. Lowry's car on July 11, 1964. Aliso 3. A letter was ordered filed from Richard K. Barrett, Beach representing "Save Our Scenery Committee" of South Laguna, requesting that the City Council pass a • resolution requesting the Orange County Board of Supervisors to take action to acquire Ali.so Beach for the public, stating that Aliso Beach, a sea -level parking CA-49 area, is scheduled for a ninety -nine unit apartment building.
