Date: August 2, 1971 MINUTES INDEX n Mayor Hirth introduced the new City Manager, Robert L. • Wynn, and expressed his appreciation for the job done by Philip Bettencourt as Acting City Manager. Present x Roll Call: Motion x The reading of the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Ayes July 26, 1971 was waived, and said Minutes were approved as written and ordered filed. ORDINANCE FOR ADOPTION: 1. Ordinance No. 1402, being, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT Special BEACH ORDERING, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR Bond AND GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL ELECTION Electic TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ON OCTOBER 5, 1971, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY A PROPOSIT- ION TO INCUR BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CITY FOR A CERTAIN MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT, • Appointing election officers, designating polling places and providing for the opening and closing of the polls. Report from Deputy City Clerk regarding filing of arguments in connection with the Special Municipal Bond Election was filed by unanimous consent of the Council. CURRENT BUSINESS: 1. A report from the Acting Community Development Promo Director regarding the recommendations of the tory Planning Commission in connection with its approval Point of Use Permit No- 1494 (revised), a request to per- mit construction of a 536 -unit apartment house complex on portion of Block 94, Irvine's Subdivision, located on the southwest corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Jamboree Road, north of the proposed realignment of Bayside Drive (Promontory Point), was presented with a report from the Acting City Attorney.
