Dear City of Newport Beach council members, I am writing to express support of the proposed amendment to have the Harbor Commission made part of the City Charter and placing the matter before the electorate on November 3, 2020. You will be taking this matter under consideration at the council meeting on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 (item 7 on your agenda). Placing the Harbor Commission into the City Charter is critical to the preservation and maintenance of the harbor, which is truly the city's most treasured asset. I urge you all to vote "Yes" and moving forward with placing this important amendment to a vote on the November 3, 2020 ballot. Thank you. Edwad V. Ladies & Gentlemen: I encourage your support of reinstating the Harbor Commission's former role as an important, effective, and comprehensive representative of our harbor interests. The previously introduced Tidelands Capital Plan is simply too narrow to get the job done. It is my understanding that you will be voting on placing the Harbor Commission in the City's charter shortly, and I ask that you do so. Respectfully, Peter C. Pallette, 1210 East Balboa Blvd., Balboa
