The official Police tow truck services are on-call, on a weekly rotational basis, for any Police emergency situation where a tow truck is required. Service agreements between the tow truck services and the City are executed for a two-year period, with one agreement expiring each year. The current agreement with G & W Towing expires January 28, 1985. In response to a request for bids from the City Clerk for the official tow truck service, G & W Towing was the only qualified respondent. As indicated on the attached reports from the Police Department, G & W Towing has provided excellent service and meets all standards required by the Police Department and the Municipal Code. I. DISCUSSION: An inspection of the facilities and equipment of G & W Towing was conducted by Offi- cer Thrasher on January 10, 1985. The facilities were found to be in good order and the equipment in good condition. L. P. The premises were found to be neat, clean and fenced in by a eight foot block wall with barb wire. An enclosed storage facility for three vehicles is on the premises. An additional storage facility is located at 1660 Monrovia. G & W Tow operates ten tow trucks in the City of Newport Beach. The following vehi- cles were inspected.
