Please would the city council start enforcing its ordinance restricting the use of motorized scooters and bicycles along
this route?
It might be good to slop the bicycle stores by the Newport and Balboa Piers from renting out these machines.
They present a real, dangerto safe use by pedestrians, joggers and non motorized bicycle users.
The use of motorized vehicles has increased significantly this year.
Thank you

Re. Council Session- Agenda Item 4- Ordinance 2020-24 Boardwalk Safety Program
Mayor and Council Members:
Thank you to our Council representatives and members of the Public who have brought this issue forward.
We appreciate the revised proposed Ordinance pending 2nd hearing and adoption.
There are many good improvements, most notably definitions and additions of Cits/Fines.
The proposed Signage as to, Walk at Newport Pier already is present. What about the other changes to Signage brought up by the
Public and PD ?
Residents and Visitors have experienced incidents along the Boardwalk, and we remain concerned that the City is not providing
Clear indication of ,Commitment to Enforcement.
Please consider this as, NOTICE OF UNSAFE CONDITIONS in connection with the excess volume and type of motorized devices of
diverse types, and the regular Unsafe, and overall speeding and reckless operation of moving "devices"/apparatus
which create concentration of risk and hazard.
Thank you,
Denys H. Oberman

I have been an NB resident for over 20 years on the peninsula. NO BIKE BAN! PERIOD. You folks
on the council do not know better than Citizens who pay your salary.
You want to try to run a ban up the flag(vote) pole, let us(the owners of the City) vote on it.
You have NO RIGHT to come down on citizens like this. You want to keep going with this heavy
handed BureaucRAT .., we will recall you. You serve us, get it straight.
NO BIKE BAN ON OUR BOARDWALK.
