Dear Mr. Jurjis:
On September 30, 2020, the Commission received a City of Newport Beach request to amend the
certified Local Coastal Program (LCP) proposing multiple changes to the Implementation Plan
(IP) portion of the LCP. Part A of the submittal is an amendment to IP Section 21.80.040
Setback Map S-lA specific to 6501/6503 Seashore Drive; and Part B includes changes to IP
Section 21.18.030, Section 21.28.010 and Section 21.62.020(B).
After staff review of all the transmitted documents for consistency with the LCP Amendment
submittal requirements of Section 13 5 51-13 5 5 3, Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations,
· we have determined that the submittal of the LCP Amendment Request No. LCP-5-NPB-20-
0060-2 (No. 2-20) is found to be in proper order and legally adequate to comply with Public
Resources Code Section 30510(b). The LCP amendment is found to be properly submitted and
officially complete as of today, October 13, 2020.
Staff will schedule a public hearing on this item at a future Commission meeting within the next
60 days pursuant to Coastal Act regulations. The sixtieth day after filing of the complete
submittal is December 12, 2020. Therefore, staff aims to schedule this item for Commission
action, or to request a time extension at the Commission's December hearing. Please call me at

Sincerely,
~~
