NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Thursday,
January 23, 2020, at 6:30 p.m . or soon thereafter
as the matter shall be hea rd , a public hearing will be
conducted In the Council Chambers at 100 Civic
Center Drive, Newport Beach . The Planning
Commission of the Gty or Newport Beach will
consider the follow ing appl ication:
24 Harbor Island Property Line Wall Variance -A
coasta l deve lopment permit and variance to
construct a 12(),foot long. &foot-tall block wall
located along the southeasterly side property line
wt-ere wa ll height is limi ted to 42 inches because
the 11.5-foot setback area Is regulated as a front
setback.
The p roject is categorically exempt under Sect ion
15303, of the State CEQA (California Environmental
Quality Act ) Gu idel ines • Class 3 (New Const ruction
or Conversion of Small Structures).
All interested parties may appear and present
testimony In regard to this application. If you
challenge this project In court, you may be limi ted
to rais ing only those Issues you ra ised at the publ c
hearing or in written correspondence delivered to
the City, a~ or prior to, the public hearing . The
applicatlon may be continued to a specific future
meeting date, and if such an action occurs,
additional public notice of the continuance will not
be provided. Administrative procedures for appeals
are provided In the Newport Beach Municipal Code
Chapters 20.64 and 21.64 . Fees are required 10
appeal any fina l action on the applications to the
Gty Council. The project si1e Is located within the
appeal area of the coastal zone; therefore, final
action by 1he City to approve a Coastal
Development Permit may be appealed to l he
California Coastal Commission.
The agenda, staff report, a nd corresponding
documents will be available by end of business day
on the Friday preceding the public hearing, and may
be reviewed at the Community Development
Departmen1 Permit Center (Bay C-lst Floor), at 100
Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660 or at
the G ty of Newport Beach website at
www oewportheachca gov/plaoniogrnmmissioo
In dividuals not able ro attend the meeting may
contact the Planning Division or access the City's
webs ite after the meeti ng to review the action on
this application. All ma il or written communications
(I ncluding email) from the public, residents, or
applicants regarding an agenda Item must be
submitted by 5 p.m. on the business day
immediately prior to the meetlng . This allows time
for the Planning Commission to adequately consider
the submitted correspondence.
