D. Olson Development on behalf of Lido House Hotel, LLC owner of the Lido House Hotel at 3300 Newport Blvd. in Newport Beach is seeking a limited term permit to erect a temporary tent structure on the rooftop venue at the hotel known as “Topside”. The Topside venue has been tremendously popular amongst guests and locals alike for both casual  socializing and formal events. The Topside venue is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday from  4:30 until closing at 11:00 and for special events on all days as scheduled.  The temporary tent structure will allow the venue to be used for both purposes during the colder  months from mid‐November to mid‐February when there is light rain or colder wind conditions. This  permit application is in response to numerous requests from both guests and public patrons to make  this venue available more frequently as the weather gets colder.  Hotel ownership has met with both Community Development and Newport Beach Fire Department and  is prepared, and able, to meet the requirements of both.  In addition to this addendum our submittal package includes the following:  Planning Permit Application Elevations showing tent structure superimposed Existing rooftop plan showing tent structure superimposed Photos of similar temporary tent structures to what is proposed in this applciation PA2019-244
