January 2020 –City Council directed staff to
focus efforts on primarily updating the Housing
Element for compliance with State law,along
with preparing a simultaneous update to the
Circulation Element.
March 2020 –General Plan Update Steering
Committee dissolved and creation of new
Housing Element Update Advisory Committee
(HEUAC) on March 25,2020.

April 2020 –the City Council authorized execution of a professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for assistance with the updates.
July 2020 –due to COVID-19 pandemic,the HEUAC didnot meet until July and held a total of seven meetings in2020.
City staff has worked alongside the HEUAC to engagethecommunity through virtual public workshops andonlineactivitiesthroughouttheprocess.
Committed to submitting a compliant,adoptedHousingElementby theOctober 2021 deadline.
