Subject: 4302 Ford Road Proposal
Dear Mr. Zdeba:
I am writing to express my grave concerns regarding the proposed
20 unit project on 4302 Ford Road. I have lived on Port Abbey since 1989 and have seen the area grow
into a wonderful community. Unfortunately, the downside of growth is congestion. Ford road has
taken a tremendous hit with the development of Buffalo Ranch. Entrance and exit from Ford to
MacArthur or across MacArthur is tenuous and we have seen a variety of serious accidents in this
area. Placing 20 more units nearly abutting this area clearly would be of high risk/dangerous not only to
vehicles but to bikers and foot traffic who frequently use the nearby area for recreation. Additionally,
it should be obvious to anyone familiar with the small isolated parcel surrounded by noncommercial
public land, that the unusual wedge shaped building design, is a haphazard attempt to squeeze out as
many units as possible in a small area that should be reserved for noncommercial public use. Little
thought was given to the safety of the build, and the safety of those that will be living in, living by and
commuting around the project.
Serious consideration should not only be given to the safety of the project on this isolated parcel but
the impact on the quality of life in our community. Access to our park, use of our park, noise created
from the proposed complex , and traffic congestion will dramatically deteriorate the quality and
happiness of those living in our residential community.
I am hoping for the sake of our community you will oppose any project proposed for this Ford Road
Area.
Sincerely,
Richard Zelner, M.D
