Subject: Ford Rod Condo/Apt project
Dear Ben,
I have several concerns regarding the proposed Ford Rd
Condo/Apt Project.
Safety concerns regarding the insufficient and potentially
dangerous ingress and egress to the property by vehicles. Both
residents and any commercial vehicles servicing the property.
Insufficient parking on property for the residents and guests for
the proposed number of units.
Noise issues and peaceful use of property for the nearby residents
who purchased their properties under current zoning which does
not include high density housing.
Lack of clarity as to whether this will be apartments or
condominiums.
Concern about traffic and safety.
I use the Newport Hills Drive West/ Ford Rd entrance as my home
is just the 2nd street in on Port Abbey Pl. I am already concerned
making Left turns leaving my street as the speed of cars entering
the neighborhood is alarming. There is no caution to slow traffic
upon entering our neighborhood. No stop sign. And no cross walk.
I have seen a number of car accidents recently at this location due
to the already heavy traffic on the street and parking for the
soccer fields and cars making u-turns. These cars are not
respecting that they are entering a residential neighborhood.
My fear is that if high density housing is built at the end of this
street these accidents will only increase.
