Subject: Proposed project at Ford Road & Bonita Canyon Sports Park
I am a resident of the Port Streets and I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed Hines
apartment/condos development being considered on the corner of Mac Arthur and Bonita Canyon next
to the park.
The project is ill-conceived at best. At worst, it is dangerous to residents of the Port Streets as well as
families and children that use the park. The proposed set up of this development – condos/apartments
(no one knows and apparently, they can change their mind at will) is absolutely ludicrous and so poorly
planned that it is almost laughable. The sheer numbers alone do not make any sense whatsoever as
well as the general configuration making deliveries – Fed X, Door Dash, Uber, UPS, USPS, furniture
deliveries, etc. nearly impossible for what could potentially be 63 residents. How on earth does this
make sense?!? And, what happens when residents are moving in and out…room for only 1 delivery
truck?? Sounds like a situation that is ripe for an accident. God forbid it happens on the street while the
“one truck” is backing out at a 90-degree angle and a small child, a student commuting by bike to
CDMHS is injured on the city street. Pretty sure that would leave the city wide open for a major lawsuit.
One wonders if a proposal such as this is worth the liability exposure or if as this would fly in any your
neighborhoods?
Please email me when this issue will be coming before city council.
