Subject: Proposed Housing Project on Old Ford Rd.
Dear Sir,
I am writing you today to express my strong disapproval of the proposed 21 unit housing
development planned in my neighborhood, Harbor View Homes, on Old Ford Rd. in Newport
Beach, CA. This large a project in such a small space is irresponsible, impractical, and unsafe.
This building and the traffic it would bring would negatively impact an area that is already busy
and congested with kids playing sports and their parents rushing them to games or practice,
cyclists, joggers, residents walking their dogs, or just out for a stroll. Any additions to that area
should be beneficial to the community and not to developers trying to make a quick buck without
any regard to the unsafe impact it will have on those of us who live there. I feel a better use of
this area would be to install a dog park, which we don’t have in our community and desperately
need with all the families that have dogs. It would be nice to have a place the dogs can run a bit
off leash, which has been problematic in our neighborhood with many dog owners doing so
illegally.
I know I am not alone in my view that this plan is a BAD idea all away around. I hope you add
my written disapproval to the list and vote against this project at the next meeting.
Thank you for hearing me out!
Sincerely,
Deborah Myers
