Dear Mr. Aust,
PMA Consulting, Inc. is pleased to this response to Item 2 of the aforementioned Notice of
Incomplete Application.
COMMENT 2a: Please see corrected typo in the Coastal Hazards Analysis Report
dated February 24, 2020.
COMMENT 2b: Please see added Table 28 and interpolations for Low Risk Aversion in
the Coastal Hazards Analysis Report dated February 24, 2020.
COMMENT 2c: We'd like to proceed with utilization Flashing & Waterproofing
applied on the exterior face of stud walls, in lieu of concrete curb with
the same Flashing and Waterproofing.
COMMENT 2d: For now, we envision epoxy injection for the cracked panels. Upon
further evaluation during the course of construction the necessary
measures will be taken and details will be provided by the structural
engineer to guarantee that the repaired seawall will be structurally
sound for the next 75 years.
As far as the mixed conclusions is concerned, please see revised
conclusion paragraph in the Coastal Hazards Analysis Report dated
February 24, 2020, addressing unforeseen catastrophic or disastrous
events which may cause seawall/bulkhead distress that may require
immediate attention and lead to repair or replacement.
COMMENT 2e: Please see revised section K/SW-2 for future concrete stem wall to
+ 13. 70'NA VD88.
PA2020-016
COMMENT 2f: To the best of my knowledge, the scope of work on this project can be
accomplished from the inside of the wall. Mechanized equipment on
the water shall not be required.
The above response was prepared based on the existing conditions, proposed drawings,
current projection of future Sea-Level Rise, and within the inherent limitations of this study, in
accordance with generally acceptable engineering principles and practices. We make no further
warranty, either expressed or implied.
