MEET -AND -CONFER FY 82/83 - NEWPORT BEACH EMPLOYEES LEAGUE (NBEL)
The City Negotiating Team has reached an agreement with the Newport Beach
Employees League (NBEL). The Agreement can be summarized as follows:
1. Total Compensation increase...... 15.5%
2. As a result of the unknown final premium increase for the
Indemnity Health & Dental Plan for FY 82/83 and in an effort
to reach an agreement for FY 82/83, the City Negotiating Team
and NBEL have agreed to utilize a 75% Medical/Dental premium
increase for the purpose of determining a proportionate salary
increase. The City and NBEL further agree that effective
January 1, 1983, the salaries of NBEL members will be adjusted
upward or downward to reflect the final premium established
for the Indemnity Health and Dental Plan.
3. Family Sick Leave: Employees will be allowed to use one (1)
eight (8) hour day of accrued sick leave.per calendar year
for an illness of spouse, son or daughter which requires the
presence of the employee.
4. Bereavement Leave: Amends the current policy to include the
employee's spouse family: mother, father, brother and sister.
5. Tuition Reimbursement: Amends the current City policy from
6 semester or 9 quarter units and establishes a cost limit
of $450.00 per semester and $300.00 per quarter. The maxi-
mum reimbursement is $900.00 per fiscal year.
It is recommended that the attached Memorandum of Understanding for Fiscal
Year 82/83 be approved.
