Hello and good morning everyone, City Council / Mayor Avery. I hope you all had a great weekend and are enjoying a nice cup of coffee. Thank you for all you do for our great city.:-) I am emailing to as that you approve Agenda Item 18 for tomorrows meeting. How exciting that we will have a fantastic partner in Be Well OC that can reach out to our less fortunate and help get them back on their feet. This as you know will relive the 4,500. annual service calls our city Fire Dept gets for these types of calls. And the Be Well OC will integrate with our current Natalie and Cynthia to give them the added support they need. Along with having Be Well OC Blue Van make calls on behalf of our wonderful Police Department who should not have to deal with these calls and take the burden off of them so they can focus on other issues for keeping our city safe. With the beds and wrap around services with our relationship / partnership with the City of Costa Mesa and now this piece to the puzzle, we will be in a good position to offer great services to folks who need the help. Here is a link to the HB web site that highlights the Be Well Service. I hope we can do the same as we move forward on our City web site so that the community can hit this link and share this link to get the community up to speed. I have copied in John Pope on this email. https://www.huntingtonbeachca.gov/residents/bewellhb/ Thanks again for all you are doing. This is really good stuff and as you know a ton of work has gone into this to get to this point. Below is the early email thread on the City of Costa Mesa partnership for reference. Keep up the good work and all the best. Thank you.:-) Best, -Dennis Bress Jr. 714-878-1276 From: Dennis Bress <dennis@ieei.com> Sent: Thursday, March 25, 202110:52 AM To: 'Leung, Grace'<gleung@newportbeachca.gov>;'ddixon@newportbeachca.gov' <ddixon@newportbeachca.gov>; 'bavery@newportbeachca.gov'<bavery@newportbeachca.gov>;'dduffield@newportbeachca.gov' <dduffield@newportbeachca.gov>; 'kmuldoon@newportbeachca.gov'<kmuldoon@newportbeachca.gov>;'Brenner, Joy' <ioy@newportbeachca.gov>;'nblom@newportbeachca.gov' <nblom@newportbeachca.gov>; ' won eill@ newportbeachca.gov' <woneill@newportbeachca.gov>;'tfinnigan@newportbeachca.gov' <tfinnigan@newportbeachca.gov>;'nbasmaciyan@newportbeachca.gov'<nbasmacivan@newportbeachca.gov>; 'Dept - City Council'<CityCouncil@newportbeachca.gov> Subject: City of Newport Beach :: Costa Mesa, Newport Beach city officials celebrate completion of $11.5M -homeless shelter Hey guys, good morning and hope you are well and enjoying a good cup of coffee. :-) Costa Mesa, Newport Beach city officials celebrate completion of $11.5M -homeless shelter https://www.latimes.com/socalldaily_pilotlnews/story/2021-03-24/costa-mesa-city-officials-celebrate-completion-of-11-5m- homeless-shelter Congratulations everyone on this great success.
