I am writing to you to ask you to PLEASE STOP your pursuit of the Boat Tax (Fee). I feel very strongly
about this from a Personal and Professional view point! I am a part owner in a Duffy and it already
costs us s00000 much money just to rent a slip/ pay insurance / maintenance etc. This is also a very
important vehicle for me and MANY other Realtors to show properties and let clients and potential
clients understand that we live in Paradise. It really impresses people and means people buy homes
and that already adds nicely to your tax base. But more importantly ........ with this "Fee", you not only
open a "can of worms" but you discourage people from buying here. That would really effect
Property values. It is hard enough right now with higher interest rates, no inventory , More Realtors
than there ever are homes for sale (Even in a High inventory market) and inflated values. This fee
would have an impact on everyone's profits!!!
This is beginning to sound like something they would do in LA. Many of us moved to Orange County
from LA County to get away from Politicians that don't support the people who live in their County. I
see this as a lose/lose idea!
PLEASE do Not move forward with this idea!
Thanks for listening and feel free to contact me with any suggestions or ideas.
