Dear Mr. Lattin :
The Council of the City of Newport Beach on April 26 acted upon the
request contained in your letter of April S, 1965, to have an
encroachment of a two foot overhang into the twenty-five foot:
a11ey at 222 Grand Canal., Balboa Island. The Cotmcil granted
you permission to encroach the second floor two, feet over the
twenty --five foot alley.

The Planning Commission, at a regular meeting
on April 15, 1965, approved Variance application
No. 856 .filed by Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Latti;n on
property located at 222 Grand Canal, Balboa
Island, which will permit a zero setback on a
25 foot alley.
In addition to permitting the rear yard encroach-
ment, the Planning Commission recommended to the
City Council that the applicant be permitted.to
have a roof overhang only,not to exceed 2 feet,
above the second story, into the 25 foot alley.
