Scope of Geotechnical Work - Proposed Single Family Residence — Located at 410 Via Lida Nord, in the City of Newport Beach, California Dear Mr. Miller The purpose of this investigation is to evaluate the deep geotechnical conditions of the subject site and to provide updated recommendations for the single-family residence project. Our field study will consist of utilizing an electronic cone penetrometer (CPT) in one strategically placed location within the street area (Via Lida Nord) in front of the referenced property to provide detailed delineation of the subsurface strata to a depth of 50 feet The CPT consists of advancing a cone -tipped cylindrical probe into the ground while simultaneously measuring the resulting resistance to penetration. An on -filed computer generated CPT log will measure penetration resistance values and inferred soil description. The location of the CPT boring will be approximately 4 to 5 horizontal feet outside curb face and directly in the center of the property (15 feet from both property lines) within the street area as shown on the attached Site Plan. The two-inch diameter boring will be backfilled with a slurry grout and capped with a 3-inch minimum thick asphalt cold patch. NorCal Engineering will notify Underground Service Alert prior to commencement of our work in the street. The client shall obtain all necessary access agreements, including but not limited to site access and permission to conduct work.
