Subject:Improper Work Site Conditions
Ron,
As you know, your workers are doing demolition work. What you may not know is that the workers are extremely
carless and debris is falling into our yard and our pool. The workers need to put up a tarp on the scaffolding to keep the
debris contained within the scaffolding and your yard. That is normal and expected. I trust you will take immediate
action to contact the crew/foreman to make this happen.
Also, because your workers were parked in the cul de sac fire Lane, the trash truck was unable to navigate the street
properly and had to go over the island curb to pick up the trash. Please make sure that they do not to park in the cul de
sac.
Thank you!

To Whom it May Concern:
Thank you for this opportunity to provide comments to the Hardaway’s request for an extension of a three‐year
construction limit for Building Permit No. X2013‐2927, XR2022‐2015 and related permits with respect to 6 Via Cristallo,
Newport Coast, CA 92657.
First, I wish to note that this project is now in its NINTH year! Attached is a true and correct copy of an email
correspondence dated March 5, 2015, from me to Ron Hardaway, when the Hardaways first began the demolition work
on this project, which I am only providing to you to substantiate the date of commencement of this project. So, for over
8 years, we have had to deal with the noise, debris, vermin, parking issues and related nuisances from this never‐ending
project. Our homeowner association had from time to time, taken enforcement actions and even litigation to urge this
project along, but the homeowner association now seems to have given up any hope to get them into compliance.
We want this project to be completed ASAP and, accordingly, we have no objection to the requested
extension. However, we do wish to note that we question whether the Hardaways will actually be able to complete this
project by July 31, 2023. To that end, it appears that the Hardaways have just now started work on their exterior
landscaping, which includes a pool, cabana and related structures. For that reason, we strongly believe that the grant of
any extension should have real consequences if the project is not completed by them by the granted extension date.
We also would like to any grant of an extension to be conditioned on their proper maintenance of the work site,
including the following:
1.That the Hardaways maintain the job site in a clean and sightly manner, including keeping the property free
from weeds. To that end, we note that only today in apparent anticipation of the hearing did the Hardaways weed the
rear yard. Weeds had been growing since last year and were at least three to four feet tall throughout the rear yard.
2.That the Hardaways repair any damage to our property caused by this project including removal and installation
of a new, properly sized glass panel which is part of the common wall between our properties. The vibrations from
demolition work caused the panel to separate such that it is now too short for the space and there is a gap on one side.
3.That the Hardaways supervise the job site and, in particular, do not park, and make sure that their contractors
do not park, in the prohibited parking areas within the Fire Lane area of our cul de sac.
Thank you for your consideration of our comments.

Regarding:
Permit No: X2013-2927 , XR2022-2015
Zone: PC52 (Newport Coast)
LocaEon: 6 Via Cristallo
Dear City Of Newport,
Thank you for the opportunity for allowing us to have a voice regarding the Hardaway
home on 6 Via Cristallo in Newport Coast and the endless damage they have done to
their home. We are next door neighbors with the Hardaway and it’s really sad what they
have done to their house and our beauBful neighborhood. Now with the City of
Newport involved we hope that this madness with finally stop. We have endured over
20 years of nonstop construcBon on that home. It was once a beauBful home with one
the best locaBon and views in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, the Hardaway
destroyed it along with our beauBful neighborhood. The front of their home looks like a
garbage dump with a CauBon tape across it. What they have done to their property and
home is like child abuse, but instead of abusing a child they would abuse their home.
We do believe they have severe mental illness when it comes to their home. We have
always been kind to them and very paBent, but we are scared of them because they
love to sue people and our HOA warned us to leave them alone because the HOA are
scared of them too.
We have seen things that they have done to their home and property that has shocked
us to the core that is very disturbing.
1. They took a sledgehammer to destroy their backyard (please see aMached video)
2. On 2 different occasions they hired someone to drive a tractors thru their home.
That was very disturbing to witness.
3. They would leave their home abandoned and in shambles for months and years
at a Bme leaving it as a fire hazard and puRng our house and the neighborhood at risk.
4. The last Bme they took out their pool 4 years they had a huge hole in their
backyard that they abandoned for over a year that caused the foundaBon of our
property to become unbalanced. We have gaps in our house because of it. When they
finally did fill the hole up with dirt they let weeds grow over 5U tall. They even have a
flag pole with the American flag sBll aMached to it that is touching the floor that is all
ripped up.

As soon the City of Newport put this noBce up they have been scrambling to fix their
home, but it’s just to show you because if you give them the go ahead to conBnue they
will abandon it unBl the city’s clamps down on them again. They have never been happy
with their home and they have been a nuisance to us and the neighborhood for over 20
years with constant construcBon on their home. They would start a project on their
home and abandon it for months and years at a Bme. And FYI…. You can never EVER
believe a word that comes out of their mouth. They lie constantly and love to put the
blame on others, but DO NOT feel sorry for them they did this to themselves and they
are responsible for this madness and only them. With that said we DO NOT want the
City to extend the permit. We want this madness to stop. There is no hope in sight for
this home to be finished with them at the helm. I hope the City of Newport will be able
to bring back our once quiet beauBful neighborhood so we can enjoy it like we are
meant to enjoy it.
