• The City provides sewer service to approximately 23,300 customers
and recycling service to approximately 22,600 customers
• Most residents and businesses receive both of these services
from the City along with water service
• 606 customers receive only sewer service, and 4,692 customers
receive only recycling service from the City.

• Customers not receiving water service from the City have a higher
delinquency rate than water customers
• The City can shut off water service to incentivize payment
• Non -water customers go through a collections process that is
sometimes unsuccessful
• Collection
efforts
require staff time,
and
once
the City's outside
collection
agency
is involved there
is an

collections charge on
amounts received

County collected the submitted recycling

sewer fees on the
parcel owner's property tax bill
• Recycle — 98.25% of fees collected
• Sewer — 97.33% of fees collected
