Dear Mayor and Council, THE NEW HOME COMPANY
SECRETARY
On behalf of the Building Industry Association of Southern California - Orange DAVE MELLO
LANDSEA HOMES
County Chapter, I write to express our support for Ordinance No. 2023-13, an
amendment to Newport Place Planned Community Development Plan, reducing the TRADE CONTRACTOR VP
ALAN BOUDREAU
Inclusionary Zoning requirement from 30 percent to 15 percent. BOUDREAU PIPELINE
ASSOCIATE MEMBER VP
As BIA/OC has outlined during past Council Study Sessions and meetings, MARK HIMMELSTEIN
NEWMEYER & DILLION, LLP
Inclusionary Zoning is a barrier to housing production that does far more to prevent
than create homes. With this understanding, it is clear that a 30 percent requirement MEMBER AT LARGE
PETER VANEK
is an insurmountable burden that prevents viable housing opportunity within Newport INTREGAL COMMUNITIES
Beach. While we would preferably see a full removal of Inclusionary requirements
on housiri a 15 percent reduction is certainlyheadingin the correct direction. MEMBER AT LARGE

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration on this matter.
