In compliance with permit 1i1128 issued by the City of Newport Beach
to the Orange Coast YMCA, I would like to clarify the following items:
1. Our building plans have entered a definitive stage and we here-
with submit plans 1128A, as an amendment to permit #1128 for
your approval on the modifications resulting from limitations
of available financing indicating development to complete these
plans as attached.
2. In view of grading differentials not previously considered, we
would like to have your interpretation regarding the placement
of concrete block walls and related property improvements to
serve as barriers between the YMCA property and neighboring
residents along both the North and West property lines.
Prompt clarification of these items will enable our architects to
complete detailed design based upon these preliminary plans and enable
us to proceed with the completion of grading and site developments
including the required walls as per approved location and design.
Thank you for your cooperation in bringing this matter before the
Commission on July 7th. We will await your confirmution of these more
detailed plans and your further instructions regarding them.

with this matter and concurred with the staff
report and recommendations. He commented on their
desire to install the pool cover as soon as possibl
in order to facilitate the use of the pool during
the remaining cold months ahead. He also commentet
on the need for the parking lot lights because of
the safety factor involved. He answered questions
of the Commission relative to this request.
Steven Abaum, 2269 Golden Circle, appeared before
the Commission in opposition to the request for
the 18 foot high lights in the parking lot because
they will shine into his bedrooms and illuminate
his entire back yard.
