I talked to someone when I first bought the property in 2002 and was told, at that time, that it would be more work then I wanted to spend on it. I have been the owner of the duplex located at 114 E. Balboa Blvd, Newport Beach, CA 92661-1174 since August, 2002 a; • PropertyProfile 114 E Balboa Blvd.pdf -shows me as the owner after acquired in August, 2002 This unit had the downstairs unit identified as Unit A and the upstairs unit identified as Unit B (as did the two duplexes at 112 and 116 E. Balboa Blvd. However, the City of Newport Beach, Southern California Edison and The Gas Co have identified them as 114 Balboa Blvd for the downstairs unit and 114 1/2 for the upstairs unit. This has always been very confusing for my tenants whenever they tried to setup their utilities in their own -name and has resulted in a mistake this year of having my upstairs tenant setup by SCE on my downstairs tenant's electric account. To eliminate this confusion from occuring in the future I would like you to change the designation of these units as follows: • Downstairs unit: change from 114 E. Balboa Blvd toll4 E. Balboa Blvd #A • Upstairs unit: change from 114 1/2 E. Balboa Blvd to 114 E. Balboa Blvd #B Please send your written response with City logo to: Edward D. I'm attaching two files ... one is a letter to the homeowner and the second one is my interoffice memo after the homeowner complained about the decision. It was not until 2002 that I called her and let her know that her request for 223 Marigold was denied again. However, please give me until Tuesday to get back to you with the "final answer", Jose. I'm not working tomorrow or Monday, so I'm hoping I hear back on Tuesday. Hi Steve, Sorry to draw you into this, but the question of this address has come up once again. I received a call from the U. S. Postal Service customer service manager asking for a clarification as to which address was "legal" since the homeowner apparently has mailboxes on both streets. In 2001 the current owner of this lot (it's a single-family residence) asked to have her addressing cleared up and wanted to use 223 Marigold. (See attached letter and memo. I spoke to homeowner by telephone in 2002 after I received word back from the Fire Department.) She really wants to use 223 Marigold, but, based on your predecessor's decision, we denied it because her front door faces Seaview Avenue. Neither GIS nor Police had a problem with using 223 Marigold. I understand why the address should be 3321 Seaview Avenue, but I wanted to find out if you see any room for compromise.
