Our staff will make the necessary changes to records maintained by the Fire, Building, Public Works and Planning Departments, but it will be your responsibility to notify all other affected agencies (i.e. utility companies, county assessor, etc.). Raus Parcel No. 42624321 and James R. Batoosingh Parcel No. 42624322, the correct addresses per Newport Beach City Atlas page M-7 are 1730 Tustin Avenue and 1736 Tustin Avenue respectively. It is not possible to assign addresses which will be in sequence with county numbering in the same block due to confusion or possible delay in response time of emergency vehicles. Furthermore City of Newport Beach 2000 Block of Tustin Avenue is located -north of 22nd Street. We appreciate the Post Office's cooperation informing the postal carriers in the area of the problem and forwarding a copy of this letter and/or copy of the enclosed vicinity map so as to eliminate delays of delivery and return of mail as undeliverable. Addressing of new tracts or subdivision: meet with Fire Department (Jim Topping). The primary concern of addressing is that emergency personnel be able to respond in an emergency with minimum confusion, so the Fire Department is very concerned that the correct addresses be assigned from the beginning. Basic rules: even numbers go on the east and north sides of the street, sites on the south or west side of a street have odd numbered addresses. 2. Requests for 2 digit addresses are typically denied unless the street to be addressed is within the limit of one tract or subdivision (i.e. streets in Harbor Ridge, Big Canyon). 3. When there are 2 or more potential street addresses, examine the orientation of the building. Generally, the street from from which access is taken is the street used for addressing purposes. The Fire Department rarely deviates from this policy. Address Changes: 1. All applications must be in writing. Encourage applicant to tell us why they want to change the address. It's helpful if they enclose a plot plan. 2. When looking at a proposed address change, consider the following: A. Access: for corner lots, the site should be addressed off the street from which access is taken. B. Address sequence: we do not allow out -of -order addresses. if the present addresses run 900, 902, 904, 906, for instance, we wouldn't allow the site between 902 and 904 to be known as 908. C. Separate addresses (even off separate streets) for units in the same building is acceptable in some cases if there is separate, district access to each unit. Fire Department makes final call. 3. Notification - when you and Fire Department agree to change an address, you do the following: (1). Send letter to applicant advising that address has been changed feim to (See file for example). M, (2). Note change or building permits in accordance with Lisa's procedures. (3) . Notify Paul Medina in Public Works so he can change atlas sheets. WE DON'T NOTIFY ANY UTILITIES, ETC. APPLICANT GETS A LETTER FROM THE CITY FOR VERIFICATION, BUT HE NOTIFIES ALL AFFECTED AGENCIES OF THE CHANGE. JOHN H. The Planning Department had already assigned 3501 Jamboree Road for the structure after we had requested a change from the original address, 300 Bayview Circle $ We feel that address did not clearly identify the geographic location of this beautiful new addition to Newport Beach's skyline. Acting on the Planning Department's approval and assignment, the 3501 Jamboree address had already been placed on the building and tenants have been notified. Major national tenants will occupy the building and the address is a vital point of identification in Newport Beach. Bayview Circle Drive will be the service road and point of entry. Mr. Raimar Schuller of your Building Department kindly explained the denial was principally the result of objections from the Fire Department and other emergency agencies that want a specific address to respond to in the event of emergency. The Fire Prevention division and others in the department as a matter of course make regular visits to major structures throughout the City and inspect access to entry and exit points as well as inspecting fire suppression preparations in these buildings. As a general rule Paramedics and other emergency units also are familiar with access to major structures. The same is true of utilities and Public Works. The Fire Department probably is more knowledgeable about the buildings than the landlords. We feel the same way about our Bayview building. We welcome Fire Department and emergency unit inspections. Certainly the Fire Department will know all of the access points to be effective in its job if it becomes necessary. 3200 Bristol Street, P.O. We believe that emergency units know their jobs and are efficient in their duties. The purpose of this letter is to request that the address of the house in question be changed. As shown in the drawing below, the house is located at the northwest corner of Redlands Avenue and Broad Street. It actually faces Broad Street; all of the windows, including the living room, family room and bedrooms face Broad Street, not Redlands Avenue; and the front of the house, including the front door faces Broad Street, not Redlands Avenue. The present sidewalk to the front door now.makes a left turn and winds up on Redlands, but I want to change that and have it wind up where the front of the house is facing. I therefore request an address change to eliminate confusion and lost visitors.
